Magners league dream team
Below is the Magners league dream team of thisa season as picked by some journalists of some description...would be very interesting to see a English Prem dream team to face it...
MAGNERS LEAGUE DREAM TEAM 2011
FULL BACK - ISA NACEWA (LEINSTER)
RIGHT WING - FIONN CARR (CONNACHT)
OUTSIDE CENTRE - CASEY LAULALA (CARDIFF BLUES)
INSIDE CENTRE - JONATHAN DAVIES (SCARLETS)
LEFT WING - TIM VISSER (EDINBURGH)
OUTSIDE HALF - RONAN O’GARA (MUNSTER)
SCRUM HALF - RUAN PIENAAR (ULSTER)
LOOSE HEAD PROP - IESTYN THOMAS (SCARLETS)
HOOKER - RICHARDT STRAUSS (LEINSTER)
TIGHT HEAD PROP - MIKE ROSS (LEINSTER)
LOCK - ALUN WYN JONES (OSPREYS)

BLINDSIDE FLANKER - SEAN O’BRIEN (LEINSTER)

Not sure whether I agree with all the selections but even so it's a very strong side...

I am so completely happy to see Iestyn Thomas named in that side. He's been a real unsung hero of the Scarlets this season, don't think anyone has really got the better of him in the scrum in the Magners.
Only a couple of positions such as 10 and 13 really that I would maybe have some different players but I think that's a really good side.

I don't see what more Aled Brew can do to gain some recognition outside of Gwent. Second highest try scorer this season too. Should be him and Visser on the wings. Obviously these journalists are celebrity journos instead of rugby experts.

Risca - true, Aled Brew is definitely worth a shout. He's had a brilliant 2nd half to the season, much like Carr had a great 1st half to the season. Going by try scorers alone though it's pretty hard to argue with having Brew and Visser on the wings

yeah fair points about Brew actually. Also I definitely wouldn't have O'Gara at 10. I'd definitely have Sexton.

mckay - I'm not really sure to be honest, I just don't think Laulala has played well enough over the whole season to be included. I'm not sure there has been a stand out player there, but maybe just to link up well with Jonathan Davies, I'd have King in there. But that's me talking with my Scarlets glasses on I guess.
Agree with you though - I'd have Sexton in the team over O'Gara too.

Well i have Scarlet glasses as well so I might even agree with you. I think that JD2 wasn't quite as good after he came back from injury. I know who I wouldn't have and that's Jamie Roberts...I reckon a 12. JD2 and 13. BOD pairing would be pretty awesome.

hmmm BOD, definite possibility, but I'm not sure he's had great form in the Magners this year. In the Heineken definitely, but I think not the Magners. He's such a great player though tis quite hard sometimes to look past him!

you can never rule him out. I'm a little saddened by the lack of Scots. I couldn't even justify having one in there.
