mark henry joins hall of pain?
Mark Henry may have potentially injured his knee in a no DQ match against Kane on Saturday night, which puts his match against ryback in jeopardy. My question is why do the WWE make their most important wrestlers do so many house shows before the biggest event of the year?

Because house shows in total draw nearly as much revenue as total PPV buys or TV. The business model is built around it.

Kane's recent record shows injuring Cody Rhodes, injury to CM Punk in their match and now possible injury to Henry.
I doubt hes to blame but its food for thought. Surprised they do no DQs at house shows this close to Mania for big talent mind you.

based on superstitions mr Anderson Anderson kills people then. I believe both umaga and eddie guerreros last matches were against mr Anderson Anderson before they died

Superstitions are neither of those things.
There can be no link to with the Anderson thing either, but there is a clear link to my point, even if I dont particularly think there is much in it. At least more than utter nonsense mind you

Bleacher (through wrestlinginc) are saying it was a normal match and having seen Henry injured they made the 'X' to the back and got a chair shot dq to end it

It's not a secret that Henry is injury prone, hopefully he'll be ok, even if he could do a quick squash against Ryback, it'll probably be the best thing in the long run

Mark Henry better pray he's injured, as Ryback is gonna put a hurting on him!

Re: mark henry joins hall of pain?
I hardly think blaming Kane is the answer, he's not to blame for Cody's injury, Rhodes just didn't flip, he's probably done it a thousand times, CM Punk has been banged up for the best part of two years now, he had an opperation and was rushed back due to them keeping the title on him, something had to give, Mark Henry is injury prone, has been all his Wrestling career, its noy ballet these guys are doing.
If Kane was guilty of not protecting his opponents then you could be onto something but that wasn't the case with Punk or Cody and I've got no real idea what actually happened in the Henry match

I'm not blaming him, I have twice said I don't think it to be the case, but its definitely worth noting. In life when someone gets to an age close to retirement and accidents happen people direct blame to the older guy. Kane might carry a burden of unnecessary guilt too. Just interesting is all

I really hope it is not a serious injury as I am really looking forward to his match with Ryback at Wrestlemania.

I've never been the biggest Mark Henry fan but he does have an important role at Wrestlemania with his match against Ryback, if he can Shell Shock Henry then that will be his proving strong man moment and it will really sell him as the classic strong man that wrestling fans love...even though he will probably lose to give Ryback a further push, his role is important as he's the only one who can give Ryback that moment.
Also if he is injured then I will be a bit devastated for him because he was finally back from injury and being given the push that he's been waiting for most of his career, no matter how much I might not be a fan of a wrestler it's always sad to see someone injured. I hope he's fine though because I actually hope he won't drop out or have them resort to a quick squash match just to protect him. I want to see a match where they both have the advantage and both end up looking strong.

Mark Henry better not miss Wrestlemania, watching Ryberg attempting to Shell Shock him is going to be the highlight of the show. Nay, the year. Nay, EVER!

Well like him or not, Mark Henry is one of the best things about the WWE right now. He plays his role to pure perfection and looks like an absolute beast. I love the intensity and ferocity he brings. Im going to go as far to say he is one of the best monster heels of all time.
And what!!!

Re: mark henry joins hall of pain?
I'm not sure I'd say best monster heel of all time, but then it could be his 10+ years of plodding along that clouds my judgement.
He is definitley the best monster heel of recent times and I'm struggling to think of a heel in his guise that has remained relevant, without getting boring, over the period he has been in this position.

I've loved Henry since he started the Hall of Pain gimmick, he's been excellent, he's been very intense, and I actually think he's been surprisingly good in the ring.

Do you think Mark Henry will be able to carry Ryberg to something watchable at Wrestlemania Crimey?

Re: mark henry joins hall of pain?
I think they'll have a decent match as long as people take it for what its meant to be and don't watch it with a critical eye on the technical side of it.
It should be two power houses trying to get the best of each other, no arm locks, legs locks or head locks, power moves and guys just using their best assets

I hope Ryberg has a new outfit for Wrestlemania. Maybe they could airbrush some muscles onto his singlet, add a bit of fur in strategic areas....

Yeah, like Kay Fabe said, as long as they don't dress it up as something it's not, a match between two huge men could be pretty good. Even the Big Show/Henry and Sheamus/Henry matches were decent.

Re: mark henry joins hall of pain?
I dunno I've just got a feeling that this match could be an absolute train wreck. They'll probably be given a decent amount of time (if Henry isn't injured that is) and that could be a problem for them both, they're not exactly the most well conditioned wrestlers around.
There's also the fact that it looks as if they're going to try and have Ryberg hit the Shell Shock, which would be difficult enough anyway but when you add the fatigue factor it could be absolutely horrible (although it will be pretty bloody hilarious to watch).

Re: mark henry joins hall of pain?
I think it'll be a quick match to be honest, surprised if it goes over 3 minutes, I can see them having quite a big build up, like heavyweights in boxing and the quick knockout, only I think we'll see Henry attack Ryback and get caught with his 5 moves of doom and a Shell Shocked pretty sharp, I think that kind of finish will have the desired effect

Re: mark henry joins hall of pain?
I'm not convinced Ryback will be able to Shell Shock him, as he has had problems doing it to smaller guys like Tensai. Mark Henry is about 50+ pounds bigger than Tensai.

To be fair he has done it to Tensai twice and did do it the week before the botch, wasnt it basically down to Tensai getting a bit cloud headed?

I thought they botched the Shell Shock on Smackdown but edited it out and then they botched again on RAW?
I think if you asked Ryberg to lift up Mark Henry right now for Shell Shock he could do it (go on, give him a call and ask him ) but when you add the possibility of fatigue, nerves (due to it being Goldback's first Wrestlemania) and adrenaline then we could have a Tensai moment all over again.

Rybotch.
What would you guys prefer? To see him pull it off properly or to see him attempt it and fail on the grandest stage of them all?

I think it's all part of the allure is seeing whether he can do it, in both a kayfabe way and in a real life way, either way would be excellent. I do love the idea that if he can't do it, the plan should be just for Henry to squash him.

A-Ryback is so gonna botch on the grandest stage isnt he. It'll will be the epicest fail of all fails. Rybrock will be dancing with Tensai and Brodus the following night on Raw.

It's not holding Henry up there that'll be the problem, it will be getting him up there in the first place, so I think they may end up using the turnbuckle like The Undertaker does for his last ride.

Personally I hope Ryberg and Mark Henry open the show, wrestle for 20 minutes and then the next 3 hours and 40 minutes of the pay per view is Goldback attempting to lift Henry up for Shell Shock.
Best.
Wrestlemania.
Ever.
