With a strong record at home the team will look to build on recent form and set up a strong finish to the campaign. We look to impose ourselves from the off and let the opposition know how we are going to play the game and how we want to dictate the pace of the game. Our brand of rugby is physical and fast, however we won't just run the ball at every opportunity. We will only play in the right areas of the paddock, and Evans knows when to attack and when we need to clear the lines. We will look to go through simple phases to reproduce quick ball to cut the defence open. We have brilliant leaders all other the pitch in Borthwick, Pienaar and Evans, and they know what will be required to get we want from the game - a win. With the decent conditions, we will look to play a simple expansive game in attack and in defence will look to force Bath to play from in their 22 and use our strong lineout and kicking game to pressure them.

Key Points
Strong-Balanced Backrow
JVN brings a very strong carrying game and can run off our outside backs to hit the gaps and power through. Cane brings his breakdown work and learning from the master McCaw can't be a bad thing at international level he will look to make a nuisance of himself. Savage brings abrasiveness and hard hitting tackles, he will bring impact with his loose play and in the tight. These three will be the backbone to a good win.
Running Rugby
We want to play running rugby today and have picked hard hitting centres who will do the job in making both their tackles and in breaking the gainline to offload to our dangerous back three who will be running a number of different angles and keeping the opposition guessing.
Powerful Front 5
We have picked a heavy unit in our front 5 to get us the nudge come scrum time and disrupt a lot of Quins ball at the set piece. All are powerful runners and can cause mayhem in quick clearing out of players either on the wrong side or on the side of the ruck (legally).

-Steyn to test Glaws backs 3s position game with Kicks in behind with North and Cueto chasing with neither being on the small side.
-Tonga/AAC to take the ball to the gain line and ask questions of the Glaws back line with North/Short/Payne coming into the line to cause problems
- GET TONGA AND DENTON RUNNING AT BURNS
-Etz to challange the Glaws throw from 2 with Hargreaves calling the lineout from the middle mixing it up.
-Jumpers from 4-8 in our pack giving Joe Grey plenty of targets with Etzebeth and Hargreaves targeting the Glaws Lineout.
-Wrigglesworth to control the tempo , feeding Steyn the ball at the right times and using his own vision to snipe and put the ball in behind Glaws.
-Blitz Defence to stop Glaws backs playing with Wrigglesworth sweeping behind

We will look to play a fast paced attacking game using big carriers running of the 9/10/12 axis to get us over the gain line and generate quick ball. Keeping the ball alive is crucial so our carriers will be looking for support runners to hit on the offload and get us further over the gain line. Our back three will look to get involved as much as possible running support lines of the halfbacks and midfield looking for the inside ball or offload. If for whatever reason we aren’t getting quick ball, we will look to take control of territory with the boot of Sexton and force Tigers to come at us from deep.

In the conditions we’ll be looking to play a controlled game and look to play in the right areas of the pitch. We’ll be looking for big carries from our pack to free up space around the fringes for out talented backline to work in. Barnes will look to dictate play in our half and pin the opposition back with directed kicking.
We’ll look to play the drift defence and force the opposition to get through our defensive line. Youngs will sweep up behind the line.
We will look to set a tone in the set piece with our big scrummaging front 5 and will look for the squeeze from the off. Gray will lead the line and we will look to target the opposition's throw with Gray/Romano marshalling the front/middle of the line and Parisse the rear. We'll use big carries from our pack to draw in the opposition defence with Youngs marshalling and looking for gaps to exploit around the fringes.
The flankers will target the breakdown with Dickson sniping around and playing flat to the line to allow Barnes & JOC space to run into. Ioane will come looking for the ball in midfield and link up with JOC causing problems in the opposition midfield. We'll look to refresh pack around 60mins + and keep up the intensity.
- Look to get JOC onto the ball as much as possible
- Flood to kick whats on offer and keep the board ticking over
- Barnes/Flood to alternate and dictate play
- Look to keep opposition pinned back with strong kicking 10/12
- Look to control front 5 with superior physical unit
- Look to get backline into play and use Manu/Alberts/Gray to punch holes through opposition defence
- Carriers – This is what gets you over the game line and dictates quick ball with our physical pack clearing out to offer Youngs quick service to work with
- Warburton to target opposition halfbacks and pressure their game
- Look to target SBW who's not played rugby union since August, now playing RL
- Target Ashton in defence with Manu

Strong front five to make sure we are strong in defence, and strong at the breakdown. Deacon to control the line out, with the experienced Chuter starting at Hooker. Weepu captains at scrum half, with Geraghty getting a rare start at 10. Sackey also getting a rare start on the wing.Basteraud isnt in the 23 this week, with Bell and Cheeseman getting a game and mermoz on the bench. Brown reverts to his favoured position at full back. Geraghty will look to kick plenty of drop goals to keep the scoreboard ticking over. Swareszki will come off the bench on 55 minutes. Also Robinson will replace Geraghty. Mermoz and Monye to come off the bench to take advnatage of a tiring defence.

Tactics-
Weather is good this week so we'll aim to use our backs.
Breakdown- work as a unit- Fraser focus on the floor, Billy V at clearing and Brown doing whichever needs filling at the time, with the rest of the pack chipping in. Aim to commit minimum men, focussing on Fraser slowing down ball, unless the turnover is on, then commit men and pressurise the Wasps back row. In attack speed of support at the ruck is more important than numbers too. When ball is quick we will use it quickly to stop the opposition counter-rucking.
Scrum- Focus on taking advantage of Stankovich's inexperience at TH. We should get momentum on or own ball and win some penalties on theirs. When our own scrum goes forward, sometimes use Billy to gain momentum to spread to the backs or execute a back row move. Fraser on his shoulder to either link in the move or win instant ball.
Lineout- Ryan to call, Botha to jump at front as banker ball and to disrupt Wasps ball. Mix up our options but keep it reasonably simple.
Defence- Blitz defence with Spencer harrying Weepu and Fraser harrying Geraghty, who will make mistakes under pressure. Brits to act as a sweeper to punish any attempts at the chip. Brown to lead the ruck fringe defence. Give Varndell no space to work with- Halfpenny hasn't missed an international tackle in over a year and will deal with him.
Attack- slow ball to be kept tight in mauls and trios of forwards picking up and driving in quick succession. Spencer to decide when to kick and when to play territory-wise. Quick ball, spread fast to Barrett then use Allen as main attacker, with Tomkins in support. Goode joins line to switch direction as 2nd distributor. Offload out of contact but not when Varndell is outside. Both wings to look for work off their wing and support the centres. Attack Varndell when he is alone on the blind side, especially with forwards like the Vunipolas and Brits off rucks and Billy V off scrums. Send Brits down off the pop at the 10-12 channel to really test their tackling.
Kicking- Barrett to build kicking confidence with standard ones, Leigh to use his range when needed. Take easy points on offer but we want to kick for touch when appropriate and use our maul. Chase all kicks and put height on them. Brown is an excellent Fullback, but has some flaws. He exclusively uses the left boot so when clearing aim for Wasps' left touchline, deep enough to isolate Brown but high enough to chase and pressurise Brown with our 2 wingers who are both INternational Fullbacks. He won't be able to kick effectively, and will be pressured on his run, but I would like 2 players there to tackle him if possible.
Subs- use our great bench front row to replace tired legs and keep the scrum as a weapon. If game gets tight, Parra is there to steady the ship. Use subs when necessary otherwise.
Overall- go all out when it's on but play cannily and don't force it in our own 22

Overall: Look for strong running rugby led by our half back combination who will look to control our tempo and keep us playing in the right areas.
Winning is a habit We have the best momentum in the league and confidence is high. 9 wins in 11 games with the two losses being a rested team in games we didn’t need to win and seven in a row. We have captured a trophy in this time and will be raring to go.
In these conditions we don’t expect to experience many scrums. However when we do scrum look for to get a good squeeze and win penalties. Look for Figallo to pressure Payne
At the lineout we feel we can hold our own and if we can develop an advantage early we shall look to switch the game plan and look for corners with the boot. Mostert, Kitchener, Morgan and Haskell are all quality jumpers and we will look to switch up the lineout.
As well as performing in the set piece we will be looking to get our forwards making some big carries in open play. We will be looking to burst into space and makes gains with the likes of Morgan, TPN, Figallo and Haskell on the ball.
Look to attack the breakdown hard and fast with lots of bodies looking to slow down or turn over Exeter ball. We have picked a back row that we feel can really target the breakdown with Hooper our main man
Strong half back combination will be looking to control the tempo of our game. Will Genia will play his natural game mixing it up with his passing and his sniping runs. Dan Carter is our main playmaker and will look to use his vast array of talents to adapt to the game. He will look to get his running and passing game involved while his kicking offers another option.
The back five will be looking to make inroads with their attacking running. Nonu will be look to make strong runs, crashing through defences. He will look to draw in defences to offer more space for our other runners. Freaun, Homer, Cuthbert and Savea will be looking to make use of the spaces with their running
Use a blitz defence with Homer trailing
With Carter, Genia and Homer we have some quality boots and we will look to take advantage. If we experience dominance at the lineout look to put the ball into corners. Genia will also use his box kick abilities to give our players something to chase.
We will look to make full use of our bench. Porter, Radian + Taumoepeau are quality options who will look to get involved around the park and at scrumtime. Robson will look to come on add to our line out game. Messam can add his carrying for our pack. Hopper and Beale can be solid against tired legs.

- Basic game around the big front five, being mobile and strong in contact. The whole pack can carry the ball well, Hook and Claasens will use a simple pod system to get front foot ball.
- Muller to run lineout, Attwood and Louw as back up jumpers, great advantage and possession to be had here against Welsh.
- Mobile back-row that can carry and be a nuisance at the breakdown, either turning ball over or slowing it down.
- Claasens and Hook to play a simple game, slow ball goes to forwards to gain momentum. Quick ball shipped into Steyns hand who will look to get the back three and Daly into spaces.
- Hook to kick, Steyn to kick for long range penalties.
- Dagg to marshal the back-three and look to counter any poor kicks to him or his back-three.
- In the decent conditions, simple but small popping of the ball to big carriers coming in at angles will keep Welsh defence going backwards.

With the decent conditions, we will look to play a simple expansive game in attack and in defence will look to force Bath to play from in their 22 and use our strong lineout and kicking game to pressure them.
- Jamesand Wilson are solid technicians and will secure our own feed, to provide first phase possession for our backs. A big target for us here is to get under the front-row and make them go backwards with constant pressure.
- With a strong lineout, Borthwick will lead the lineout and use himself as banker ball at the front of the line with Kruis jumping in the middle. If winning own ball Borthwick will look to call full number lineouts to tie in the Glos fowards.
- Our whole pack is mobile and capable of snaffling ball at the breakdown. We will look to offload in the tackle to keep moving the point of attack and tire out the big Bath pack, this will keep Louw, SOB and Fearns away from turning over our possesion.
- The backrow will target the halfbacks, allowing them no time on the ball, which will lead to them rushing and making handling errors and mistakes. Big empahsis on running forwards down the ten channel when there is slow ball.
- We will look to keep the ball alive, preventing them from setting any defensive lines. Evans will direct traffic with the use of quick pods systems outside the guards of the rucks, and target any of our forwards against their backs.
- We will use a banana drift line in defence to cut down Burns' options and push him inside towards our backrow.
- Evans has some dangerous backs out side him, and will look to use them at every valid opportunity after we have tied in forwards or created mismatches in the defensive line.
- Look to use our strong bench for impact later in the game. To get an advantage in the scrum, and collisions with big impact players.
- Pienaar will kick all points, he can kick from within their half, so this indicates that Bath should be wary of giving away penalties.
- This is a big game for the two teams, and we realise that it will be heated. Therefore with the experience in our side we will look to not give away silly penalties, but punish those given to us.

Attacking
- We come off the back of a huge win and expect nothing else but another big win.
- Robson and Burns to play what's in front of them and look to release Roberts or snipe as much as possible. If it isn't on then Burns will stick it in the corners and, with Hamilton, Whitelock, Cane, JVN and Savage we have a number of jumpers to gain the ball back.
- Look for runners off of 10 and 12 channel to make the initial break before sending the ball out wide to JSD and May.
- We will look to use our big pack to carry alot of ball and, if it isn't on then run off of 9 and take a couple of 'up the jumper' phases to drag defenders in.
- Our back three will look to come off their wings and hit the right angles.
- Impact bench to shore up our victory and to keep the scoreboard ticking (Gopperth) , Yachvilli and Trinder will play fast-in your face-rugby, Qera and Narraway will have a field day against tired legs in the loose.
Set Piece
- Strong scrum which will get the edge up on the tighthead side and a good bench to come on as well to continue the pressure, 8-9-10 is a move we will use alot.
- We will use the maul to get ourselves up the pitch quickly and power over from short distance.
- Lineout has been mentioned previously where we have many strong jumpers here who will look to control attacking and defensive ones.
Defending
- Banana blitz defence targetting 10 so he has no time to kick or give quick ball to the centres, we will protect the channels to stop 9 sniping.
- Robson will look to sweep and counter attack off any kick through's.
- We will hit the breakdown quick to give Savage and Cane time to get over the ball and obliterate any protection they have in place.
- If the turnover isn't on we won't commit and will fan out defending inside-out.

- In Tigers territory, with 5 jumping options to use, we will look to play off the top and move the ball out to Sexton and the backs. In our own territory, we will look to take the ball down into the maul and drive ourselves into the right areas.
- We will play an aggressive blitz on defence, playing on the edge of the offside line and coming up at pace, looking to isolate the ball carrier and stop any opposition momentum before it can get going.
- Smith will act as a sweeper and cover any chips or grubbers behind the defensive line.
- We will leave two players sitting deep to cover any kicks and they will look to counter attack of any loose ball.
- With the blitz in operation, we will look to be at the breakdown first hitting it hard and fast. If the ball looks available we will flood the breakdown with Wood looking to get his hands on the ball.
- If the ball is not immediately available we will only commit 1 or 2 players to legally slow the ball down and instead look to strengthen the defensive line.

Tactics
- Basic game around the big front five, being mobile and strong in contact. The whole pack can carry the ball well, Hook and Claasens will use a simple pod system to get front foot ball.
- Muller to run lineout, Attwood and Louw as back up jumpers, great advantage and possession to be had here against Sharks.
- In the decent conditions, simple but small popping of the ball to big carriers coming in at angles will keep Sharks defence going backwards.

- Look to target SBW who's not played rugby union since August, now playing RL
- Target Ashton in defence with Manu

Re: Aviva Premiership Round Nineteen
We're up to full strength right?
16. Korree Britton 17. Antoine Guillamon 18. Rubert Harden 19. Akapusi Qera 20. Luke Narraway 21. Dimitri Yachvilli 22. Jimmy Gopperth 23. Henry Trinder
Tactics

- With a powerful front 5 on show we will look to keep the scrum up and use it as a weapon. On our own feed we will look to get the wheel on and give our 8-9-10 axis as much room as possible to attack from.

Re: Aviva Premiership Round Nineteen
Bath 22-21 Welsh
SP: Very strong here for Bath.
BK: Great battle with both slowing down ball.
HB: Good control for Welsh who are a step up here.
AT: With quick ball Bath will be dangerous, think Welsh will control the game better with their hb's.
BE: Impact for both.
TA: Bath using simple plan and through set piece gives them advantage. Mobile offloading game helps Welsh but think that up front Bath edge the match. Welsh keep it close with half backs.
Saints 24-27 Tigers
SP: Can see Tigers getting on top come scrum time, lineouts even.
BK: Two fantastic backrows on show here.
HB: Think Saints may bring a bit more but Tigers not to be sniffed at.
AT: SBW not getting ratings for me, other than that Saints good but Tigers bring good quality and think Tuilagi will school Pisi.
BE: 2 strongest benches in the league.
TA: Keeping quick ball and targetting lineout is good for Saints. Tigers get their targets right here and use carriers well.
Wasps 12-20 Sarries
SP: Stankovich out of place is a massive problem here and Sarries will get a great nudge.
BK: Again more for Sarries.
HB: 9 to Wasps 10 to Sarries.
AT: Wasps are dangerous in back three but centres do not help one bit, Sarries have strong runners and will make breaks through Wasps defence.
BE: Strong for both teams.
TA: Need more tactics for Wasps gameplan, drop goals won't work today without quick ball. Sarries set out well with good attacking tactics and targetting the breakdown.
Warriors 24-21 Chiefs
SP: A good battle, both Tightheads will get the nudge on come scrum time.
BK: Again very well balanced, can't split them.
HB: Bit more for Warriors with Genia getting good gametime now.
AT: Two strong attacks with good ball for both.
BE: International experience helps Warriors.
TA: Simple here for Chiefs using Armitage. Warriors bring momentum and use their strong carriers well.
SP: Very strong here for Bath.

Re: Aviva Premiership Round Nineteen
Northampton Saints 26 - 29 Leicester Tigers
Big battle this week, but can Leicester getting a decent nudge up-front and taking some line-out ball. Around the park Saints have some potency, but going backwards in the tight hurts this ability. Halfbacks are a step up to Saints, but Tigers are a very good unit, more attacking threat for both back lines with ball in hand, but there a little more control from the Tigers unit with Barnes pulling strings alongside Flood. Both benches are cracking, would've been a draw and maybe a slight win for Saints, but their front-row going backwards hurts them
Worcester Warriors 24 - 22 Exeter Chiefs
Decent battle up front, with Wuss getting a slight edge, but the power of Chiefs locks evens it up. Line outs are even with two class operators leading some good jumpers. Back rows are again both class units, but both even due to some form and injuries. Halfbacks TJ and Wilko both been in good form, but has has DC and Genia and they will work brilliantly for Warriors pulling strings. bit more in the Warriors back line to attack and defend against a strong Chiefs team.
London Wasps 15 - 28 Saracens
Up front Sarries get a nudge on with Stankovich out of position. Decent second row from Wasps, but Saracens are much better here. Lineout would be a close run thing but edge it towards Sarries again. Back rows are both decent units, but the Saracens one is much better form and are doing very well at the minute. Halfbacks are close, with Weepu pulling strings and Barrett attacking well, both aren't the defensive so some ground to made here. I like the under-rated Saracens centre partnership, and their back three looks great. They will secure a big win away from home in this contest.
Gloucester 34 - 31 Harlequins
Great contest here. Upfront is just about even, maybe a little words Quins with some form issues for Glos. Good powerful second rows for both and some good lineout nous as well so again even here. Inclusion of Cane is big and will give Robshaw a bit of a lesson on the deck. But the power of the Quins backrow will allow their captain to link up well and smash the rucks. Halfbacks are about even as they both play their tactics well. Burns under pressure will help Quins, and making glos defend with long kicks is also a good move, if the kick and chase is good - otherwise they will be punished. (Not sure how Cueto can chase if he isn't on the pitch though )Great atacking threat from both sides, but I Glos have a little more ball in hand for me. Two good benches and will help their respective teams out, but there is just a little more quality in some aspects of the Gloucester side.

Re: Aviva Premiership Round Nineteen
Gloucester 30-30 Harlequins
Two fantastic teams offering great match ups around the park. I think Gloucester get edge on up front but Quins have some good form in the engine room especially. A bit more nous for the Quins halfbacks but the backs are tight throughout. Really can't separate.
Wasps 15-24 Sarries
Sarries will get a good edge in the scrum with Stankovich no loose head. I really like Wasps engine room but Wasps a bit of a class above past there. Sarries to get back to winning ways will seal the points.

Re: Aviva Premiership Round Nineteen
Bath 19 vs 18 Welsh
Bath have an awesome front row and strong locks and will win the scrum, however Welsh have a really secure lineout and will steal some Bath ball there. Think that despite Brussouw, Bath will win the breakdown and their back row will do some damage with heavy traffic carrying. However Welsh's pack will do a huge amount of work in all areas and will get ascendancy by the end of the match. Nev's form is returning and he and Pienaar will run the game and the all around feel and tactics of the Welsh outbacks is good and will work well. However, the Bath backs have more individual flair. Eventually home advantage snags it for Bath

Re: Aviva Premiership Round Nineteen
Gloucester 24 - 23 Quins
Gloucester win the scrum with an very strong front 5 and JJ looking disinterested for Quins and Gray having a poor last match. Both sides will win their own lineouts. Both have lovely back rows with a good balance, Cane will edge Robshaw in the breakdown but lose out elsewhere and Denton is probably on the worst form of the 6. Good use of kicking HBs by Quins and Burns off form sees even battle of HBs. Both sets of outside backs lethal, but I think Quins offer a more varied threat if they get the ball to use it. Another close one decided by home advantage

Re: Aviva Premiership Round Nineteen
Saints 22 - 26 Tigers
Tigers win the scrum with an all around better front 3 and equally good scrummaging locks. Saints probably edge lineout with Wood there, but Warb's return to some form sees Tigers take the breakdown. Read the stand out forward but Tigers have a similar threat in Parisse. I prefer Smith Sexton to Youngs Flood but I think on current ascertainable form the Tigers' pair win out and will have a moving pack and ball to work with. Like both sets of backs but SBW losing points now and could have trouble against a tough duo of Barnes and Manu who was great in real life. Ashton won't be able to keep JOC out. 2 strong benches to finish. With good ball from Warburton and Alberts and a HB pairing in synch who are good with a strong pack, these defensive frailties in the backs will cost Saints

Lots of penalties at scrum time where Mas will cause strife for Marler and Figallo for Payne. Can't call the lineouts, but breakdown marginally to Worcester. Wuss have a very mobile pack that will tire out Exeter's and play a lot of rugby but might get done over by the power of Chiefs' locks in the mauls. Still capable of big carries and there will be breaks along the fringes of rucks for both sides. Genia and Carter better than TJ and Wilko. Very open game. With Kahui back on form, very tight in the centres and both sides can make breaks. Homer the odd one out in very good back 3s. The HBs plus home advantage enough for Worcester to win
