Drew Mitchell completes his move to Toulon

Drew Mitchell has completed a move to RCT Toulon. The 29 year old Aussie who has 69 international caps was thought to be in talks with European Champions, Leinster. However Mitchell will join fellow Southern Hemisphere stars Brian Habana who is also moving to Toulon next season.

Damn, thought he was odds on to join the Dragons. I'm really disappointed now. Why them? Can't have been the money or the lifestyle; we've got that and more in Newport

Disappointing from a Leinster point of view. Toulons shopping list just never ends.

Are Toulon just signing these players so other teams cant have them?

Was thinking the same. Next season they will have Habana, Mitchell, Wulf and Palisson on the wings as well as others like Martin.

How many wingers do they need? Are they preparing to loose a few or are they preparing to convert one to full back?

Habana and Mitchell to play the important games - HEC and home T14, Palisson and Wulf to rotate in as required.

Mind you as the official language during training sessions at Toulon is English, maybe Palisson is on his way out?

Rooney seems to be leaving. Lapeyre also. Not sure about Palisson.
Understand Mitchell can also play at 13 so quite an utility back.

Who is Lepeyre going to? Looks a good prospect.

Looks rubbish.

Wilkinson has extended for a year (after the leicester game). I thought after that they couldnt sign anyone else (castro or claasens for example) so a bit surprised by this signing. Wonder if they are not releasing david smith as well as he hasnt been near the bench recently. Bruno might retire and young Orioli is their number one hooker. In 2nd row either Suta or Rossow could partner Botha.

i hate moneybags toulon, i actually hope saracens beat them, and i dont like saracens either. Hopefully leinster can get willie le roux or zak guildford or someone now instead.

Toulon will come a cropper if the French ever cop on that so many foreigners is hurting their national team. But they aren't alone. Clermont are just as guilty when you consider

This is just getting stupid now, especially when you have guys like smith getting no game time! Fair play to the English contingent of Sheridan, kennedy, armitage x2, and wilko. They are starting in one of the most competitive squads, in the world.

I think they need a name change though. Toulon is too.............. too....em, French?
