I think there is a massive difference between the two FBs, one is looking at all the attacking options and the other is a steady defensive operator, both classy footballers but Liam Williams is a joy to watch.

Owen Williams has done an excellent job adjusting to playing on the wing, I would be surprised to see him on the summer tour as an 11,13,14

Penalty count is very low in this game, neither side really having many shots at goal.

Patchell so close to scoring/setting up another try
He has awesome pace, probably shouldn't have gone for the miracle ball.

Robinson really is Tom James without the physicality or finishing
Makes a break with some pace, immediately gives away possession
At least Tom James would have good game where he would create tries, and if in doubt would just smash someone.

Owen Williams the winger is an exciting prospect never noticed him before but has got a burst of speed, Robinson has looked sharp throughout as well.
The other Owen Williams is looking pretty damn good as well is making the Blues guess every time, IMHO deffo looking the better flyhalf

Patchell everytime
The Blues Owen Williams is really a 13 and has set up and scored several tries in the 13 channel this season.

george north's offensive game might be international class, but defensively his "grab a shirts" technique is shocking! really needs to sort out his tackling and defensive positioning.

At least Patchell has been getting involved, Williams had a bit of an armchair ride with the Scarlets pack and outside backs
George North must be peed at Halfpenny - that's 2 tries he has cost him

His defence is normally excellent, just got caught out by JD2
Sweeney on for Halfpenny?

I do like the Ginger Monster I have to say Wales606 fast big strong and brave, and with Owen Williams I can see the flyhalf factory is beginning to produce again

Why have Sweeney kick for the corner when Patchell has a lot better distance?

Patchell creating all the chances for the Blues
I guess he has to with no Copeland and Owen Williams on the wing - that's where all our tries have come from this season

Once again Patchell looks like the only Blues player who wants it.
Cardiff backrow completely anonymous in the second half, the whole side lacked the basic skills, too many dropped balls and messy rucks.

Disappointing
Good first half and some positive for the Blues, but too many errors in attack and defence in the second half.
We should have score more in the first half, but couldn't turn possession and territory into points - no creativity outside 10
Paterson had his best game of the season at 8, carrier surprisingly well
Waburton was good at the breakdown, but his lineout work really impressed me.
Patchell had a slump in the 3rd quarter but came back fighting and finished the game really well - outpacing a Scarlets back on the outside is fairly difficult - he was the only Blues player who looked like setting up a try.
Blues were let down by their front 5's workrate in the second half
Scarlets back are quality finishers, if we had swapped 13s that game would have been a lot, lot closer.

Sorry sight for the Blues once again, there are some cracking players, and again some very good individual performances tonght, but unit skill, any defencive cohesion or any support in any which way shape or form was lacking, it's like a pro team being guided by a guy who couldnt even cut it in the amateur... oh!
Nige very sympathetic on the Blues scrum 2nd half, and Scarlets varying their tactics totally stumped Davies who had no answer but to keep the score down.
Positivess...
Lions contenders didn't get injured
Davies looked good
Patchell is just top class
We are still playing at the Arms park
Negatives...
We were never in the game
Phil Davies is still in charge
Roberts has already left for France mentally
Still a dozen players commanding a wage who don't deserve one
The sad thing about all this is that what the Blues are not able to do is so basic, no dummy lines, noone in any support, kick chase pathetic, basic defencive coordination non existant.

Re: Scarlets Team v Cardiff Blues; Saturday 20th April 2013 kick off 6.30pm at Parc y Scarlet
Good first half but poor second. Nigel was poor he allowed to much spoiling and slowing down on the ground and offside amongst the defences, which spoilt the game.
Scarlet's form was way below their performance last week against Glasgow, hey will have to play a lot better if they are to get anything in the play offs!Blues were unlucky to be behind at half time.
The Scarlet's struggled by not playing a 7, they were repeatedly turned over and rarely troubled the Blues at the breakdown.
The Scarlet's replacements made an impact, Rees tightened the grip at forward and it was great to see Priestland come on and with his first touch send JD2 surging through a gap in the Blues defence, which should have resulted in a try.
The Scarlet's will miss North and Fenby next season, Liam Williams is a much better 15 than wing, so unless they are planning to play centres on the wing, then they must recruit two NWQ wings to plug the gap until one of the youngsters in the squad steps up.

Lacks vision??? Tell that to his corner kicking, his linebreaks, and his ability to decide a pass is on in his own 22, vision is one of his biggest attributes IMHO!!!

Then you're wrong. How many breaks does he make which end up in him being tackled or a poor pass? Most.

I don't think being tackled counts as lack of vision!
He is the most creative player the Blues have and certainly doesn't lack vision!

Then three of you are wrong
And yes, getting tackled shows precisely a lack of vision if a team mate is better placed and the pass is on.

I don't think I have seen a single case of him not passing when it is on after making a break
He did make a poor decision to pass on the break yesterday - but by your logic if he has not made the pass he would have been "uncreative"
I'm willing to bet Patchell and Copeland are the top "clean break" players for the Blues by some distance this season, and top assists aswell.
