Pro12 Try Of The Season Nominees

Howya.

So I'm going to do a poll after the Pro12 final on here for our 606v2 try of the Season award. But, problem! I haven't seen every game in the Pro12 this season so I've missed possibly hundreds of tries. So I need you guys to nominate (and link to) the best tries scored by your club this season, so I can come back to this thread and cull a shortlist from them. Then I can open it up to the vote in May. I'll hopefully do it on the basis of the best try by each team in my opinion, so it's fair if it comes down to people voting for their own team.

Tries which are not on youtube will not be considered. As Jean Baudrillard would probably/definitely not say "If it wasn't on TV it didn't happen"*. Get linking!

*He would probably say that that is a gross misunderstanding of everything he has written, to the point of utter irrelevance to his thinking, before going on to muse about the perceived reality of these tries being changed by the medium we view them and the constant repetition of them to the point where we are watching a form of 'hyperreal' rugby that bears no relation to experiencing the game live.

Anthony Perenise's try last season where he ran in a 40 yard prop's blinder with steps a-plenty and bingo-jazz-hands to boot was so good it should win this year's competition.

Good idea Notch. You don't seem to be much of a fan of Baudrillard, I thought his analysis about living in a hyper reality was spot on. I remember we looked at himself and many post-structuralists in what I can only describe as the module from hell in my politics degree.

Anyway, I'll have a look through some tries, but for now, this was a great try by the Dragons against Ulster. They started in their own 22 and went the distance in 2 phases with some fantastic offloads.

That Dragons try is superb.

I like the Bevington try especially given the context. In Ravenhill, losing against the league leaders and down to 14 men. Ball in their own 22 and decide to attack rather than clear their lines. Results in a 30m dash by a prop for the line.

Faletau in the Dragons try. Epitome of class.

And to be fair the respectful applause from the Ulster cognoscenti.

Dragons try was brilliant, game had gone dead 31-0 and it was a foregone conclusion. Then Dragons scored a wonder try from nowhere.

This was my favourite Ulster try so far but the Trimble effort runs it close. Great breakout, cross kick, aerial take and support lines/offloading.

Ulsters best scores this season were Payne v Saints and Pienaar v Castres for my money. Sadly both in the heineken though

As it was it was a bread and butter try, albeit Allen practically breaks his ankle to get it down. Over committed!

Has anyone posted Glasgow's bonus-point try against Ulster? Matawalu scored it but the last pass out of the tackle was something special.
