Films with names in the title - movie cup round 6
First topic message reminder :
The Brahma Bull takes the lead at the half way stage as we go into round 6.
Dont forget to vote for your 2 favourite films this round.
Next weeks competition is to choose your favourite film from the year you were born in.
Anyway, here are this weeks nominations (where sent!):
Leon
Anchorman:the legend of Ron Burgundy
Mad Max 2
Life Of Brian
Waynes World
Jackie Brown
Ray
There's Something about Mary
Kill Bill
Freddie Got Fingered
Ace Ventura
Life of Brian - sheer genius, easily the funniest comedy of all time and, as a vicious commentary of just about every aspect of civilisation & religion, would be a contender for greatest film ever if it wasn't for the slightly OTT spaceship time
Mad Max 2 - Gibbo at his best, beats a terrific original.
Anchorman - One of the best comedy's there is insane laughs, great quotes just plain fantastic and all i can see is if you vote for it then you can "stay classy"
Jackie Brown: An adaptation of the Elmore Leonard book Rum Punch. A cracking crime/drama which revitalised Pam Griers career. Also boasts a supporting cast of De Niro, Samuel L Jackson, Michael Keaton and Bridget Fonda. One of those films that everybody has to see.
Something about Mary - The comedy of that decade and one of the funniest timeless classics in comedy. The fact that this film still feels fresh today, shows how good it is. From the soundtrack to career bests from the whole cast, this has to win!
Wayne's World - "it will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine", said Wayne Campbell. I think he was talking about your vote, which Wayne's World totally deserves as the best film with a name in the title ever made. Tia Carrere in stunning form ("Scha-wing!"), Rob Lowe resurrecting his career, and more great quotes than almost any other film ever made - if you don't vote for this, I have to ask you: " "a-bumhole-says-what?"
Ray - Jamie Foxx's brilliant acting and a movie about a legend that didn't pull its punches and captured the flaws, brilliance and spirit and most of all tragedy of Ray Charles perfectly
Freddy Got Fingered - I am testing the culture of the forum!
Ace Ventura pet detective - Jim Carey at his best, funny from start to finish, with memorable quotes! "Do not go in there!"

You're right I assumed you had a plan, I guess being so old you don't want to make a plan because you know you'll forget it?Adam D wrote:Derbyblue wrote:Adam maybe you should PM the people in the movie cup and list all future categories and get all the nominations now?
