Plans to ship Ogogo off to US for 2nd pro fight.
Golden boy have announced that they are planning to have Ogogo's 2nd pro fight in Atlantic city in November.
Is this a good move?
The first 10 fights of a pro career are a learning curve surely. This sounds like Golden boy are parading Anthony a little too soon lol.
Heres a link to Schaffer talking about it

Young Fury has just fought in New york against a bag of garbage.........in his first fight..
He won't be rushed.............
Fury, Haye, Price et al...Don't want to wait around too long.........Or this lad might sneak up on the rails........
Look s decent.

He had a great debut, absolute peach of a punch that finished it!

Better to get used to fighting away from home early, knead out the 'stay at home' mentality

Can't see any problems, he's 24 with a strong amateur background so can be moved along rather fast and cracking into the US market early can only benefit him

yeah Schaeffer seems to really want to push Anthony onto be a big star, good luck to the kid, hope he does well.
I think fighting in the US is fine personally. May as well get used top these things early really.

I thought he was fighting next month. Why wait until Nov for his next fight?

Also true, but with this at first it's to get used to not being at home, going through the whole rigmorol of it. Preparation is key, having done things once you're more prepared for it next time.

Yeh, think they said May 18th in his post-debut interview?
But I'm pretty sure that was in the States.
Basically they seem to think he's very marketable, decent amateur background, pro-friendly style, good attitude, good talker and a good looking lad. I don't think he'll ever be great, but he's got enough going for him to still be pretty successful and make some good money.

Seems a like they are planning on marketing him over in the states when he is an ex British Olympian.

You not think it's better to build up support at home.......Let's face it the bigger your following the more chance of fighting at home in big fights anyway!!
Brits don't sell in America............Lewis struggled to sell unless he had an opponent with a name...
and this guy will never be as good as Lewis.
