Championship
At last it starts
Galway v Mayo
Cavan v Armagh
Westmeath v Carlow
Back door takes a bit of the edge off Galway v Mayo. Loser would have expectations of continuing through back door for a considerable period.
Cavan have every chance of accounting for Armagh
Westmeath must be the shortest of favourites

Re: Championship
Galway, Cavan and Westmeath -5 for me.
Pains me to say it as an Armagh man but just can't see a win at the minute. Young team with a very very good half back line and Jamie Clarke. Inexperience could cost us the game so I'm not confident!

Armagh in same position as DOwn last year. On the handy side of the draw and would be well starred for an Ulster final place if they get past CAvan.

Re: Championship
Mayo were absolutely ruthless in the first half. Pundits on Sunday game puttng scale of defeat down to lack of character.
Armagh a long way back.

Start a job in Lincoln tomorrow so have been here all week and missed todays games. Couldn't get a link to work on the laptop.
Armagh as toothless as I've been hearing?

Re: Championship
Clarke had a goal disallowed in the first half which would have left a point in it and SHield should have had a goal put had a point instead. Still only a point in it with 58 minutes gone. Strangely ARmagh didn't have the intensity. Rumours are Clarke is away for the summer.
Grimly says he's going to continue with the attacking game. Cavan goal came from a 50 yard run right through the middle of the ARmagh defence. In the past he'd been in the hospital after 10 yds

Re: Championship
Exactly! Donaghy being injured was never going to be a good thing but even at that our half back line has our 2 best players outside of Clarke in AK and McKeever. Simply not good enough at the minute but hopefully they will learn from this and improve as it is a young team.

Re: Championship
Lots of miles in the legs of McKeever and Kernan. Not sure Grimley is the right man for Armagh. Think his future will depend on how far he gets them through the qualifiers. Like everybody else they will want to avoid next weeks loser

Re: Championship
Armagh's defence was pretty pathetic, gave Cavan far too much room, they used it well and Dunne looked quite handy, but I don't think it was much of a test.
