Brook Jones 2 on July 13th
This fight is set to headline at Hull KR's Craven Park stadium which features Luke Campbell's debut and Lightweight Commenwealth title fight between Derry Mathews and Tommy Coyle.
What do people think of the rematch?

Why? Brook should fight a world level fighter.

Smart move but a backwards step !!!!!!!!!
Jones has been exposed so Brook should look good atoning for his worst night.......
However none of us will be convinced..........

I can't see it being anything like the first fight, I can see Brook stopping Jones inside 7 rounds.

I think this is a good fight, Brook can show us what he has learned since the last one.
He struggled last time out.

Re: Brook Jones 2 on July 13th
This could be a huge banana peel imo. Jones has already been in the ring with Brook and knows what to do. If Brook looks bad (again) in this fight, it will lose him a lot of respect from fans.
Re: Brook Jones 2 on July 13th
Styles make fights and Jones' style may not have been suited to Deano Byrne (think that was his name) although Purdy did pull out twice on that fight so it sometimes isnt easy fighting another opponent at such such notice when having trained for another for so long.
Brook threw everything he had at Jones and couldn't make a dent in him. I fail to see what more he can do this time. I think this fight is a mistake for Brook.

I'd heard a rumour of Brook fighting on this card a couple of weeks or so ago. Really looking forward to going along now.

Could be a mistake, but he should be given respect for doing it.
As much as I like British fighters to do well, its always nice when they take a fight that has huge risk.

Re: Brook Jones 2 on July 13th
huge risk? Jones is a b-level fighter when brook is supposed to be one of the main talents at 147.
was no one else decent available? even if he had to travel to the states. his career is stagnating more than any other i can think of in terms of potential.

No doubt mate, but he has fought at this level for so long now and should be moving on. Imagine what a defeat would do against Jones.
Its too big of a risk imo. Jones took everything and never looked that hurt in the previous fight. Unless Brook has begun eating magic beans I dont see how he stops Jones.
The only benefit is it is likely to be a 10 rounder so Brook gets out of jail quick if he starts to gas.
Re: Brook Jones 2 on July 13th
Yea Oasis, huge risk, he had Brook in all sorts of trouble towards the end of the last fight when Brook was then (as he is now) one of the main talents at 147. Jones was still "b-level" as you say.
Whats the difference this time? the only difference is Brook has had multiple injuries.
He would be better losing to a good fighter rather than a b-level one if it happened.

Re: Brook Jones 2 on July 13th
Easy sell, entertaining fight, chance to prove himself, been out of the ring all year, cant see the problem
Everyone is tied up atm and there isn't much for Brook to look at. Bradley is fighting JMM, Alexander-Purdy, Lopez-Maidana, Berto-Soto Karass, Thurman-Chavez and Broner-Malignaggi are all up soon between may and July so Brook can fit into that list
Lots of pressure to as he can't look as poor as he did last time and the fact Jones struggled in his last fight. He drew but if memory serves me the guy who he drew with was a really unorthodox fighter who moved a lot which enabled him to bank rounds early as Jones is a slow starter. The 8 rounds distance didnt help either. Given he was to face Purdy such a drastic style change probably threw him
Dangerous for Brook, he should win but jones has shown he can take Brooks best and has the stamina to keep on him for the full 12

The 10 round limit will be a massive factor in this fight. I am almost sure I heard Hearn saying it would be 10 rounds.

Not particularly exciting but, atleast well get to assess how much he has improved since the last fight.

Re: Brook Jones 2 on July 13th
Who cares if he does.......he has not fulfilled his potential as yet and he is re-fighting some guy that drew against (literally) nobody in his last outing.
How can you go from a potential world title fight against Alexander to this again? Really? Imagine if khan was stated to fight mayweather then 10 hs don the line fought Diaz again, he would be slagged to the max on here.
Prospect? Talent? Determination? I dont see it, although I had done prior to the last 12-18 months of Kells absolute awful career.

Hard to really get excited about this fight, although I suppose it's better that he stays busy. Brook needs to show in this fight that he's a cut above this level now, either by stopping his man or outboxing him thoroughly.

Can't really see why people are slagging it too much. There were a few calls for a rematch when it first happened, Brook needs a fight against a decent opponent to keep him going. Jones provides him with that.

a huge risk would be putting him in there with a fighter better than him, not one he already beat fair and square, regardless of how close it was at the end.

Quite agree. I can't believe some people think this guy will beat Amir, on what evidence?

On the evidence that they don't like Khan.

It would be a very good marker to see as to just how much Brooks conditioning and stamina has improved seeing as they have supposedly got him training like a tank nowadays.

All that will be tested if he meets better opposition. Jones is C level. Even a match with Purdy is better than Jones.

You were saying Brook would beat Pacquiao and was a better fighter than Bradley not too long ago, so surely if you consider him that level then he would have to have a very good chance of beating Khan.

The Jones fight showed me all I need to know about Brook. He just isn't as good as I thought he was.

I reviewed it after Jones drew against a nobody in his next fight. He just seemed to march forward with a high guard doing nothing. Poor fighter.

I wouldn't mind Julio Diaz returning to Sheffield to have a fight with Brook. Howabout Eddie Hearn bringing Kendall Holt over? I think that would give us a better idea how Brook is progressing, or not, as the case may be.
