Introduce a wrestler Empty Introduce a wrestler

Post by Hero Fri 24 May 2013, 11:10 am

It's a big world out there, there's plenty of Feds beyond the bubble of WWE and TNA and as shown recently WWE have been scouring some of them to bring into the roster such as CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Antonio Cesaro etc. but I thought we could have a thread where we could showcase some of these that need greater exposure, the Uhaa Nation's, the Jack Evans, the Super Smash Bros etc.

So to crack off I'd like to introduce you to...

Eddie Kingston.

Now anyone that knows me knows I have quite the hankering for a Dean Ambrose promo. Well Eddie Kingston comes a very very very close 2nd. If you've never seen an Eddie Kingston promo then you've been missing out as he's a guy that each and everytime draws you in with every word, every pause and he's make you believe that the match he's fighting means the world to him, he sells the story up there with any promoer in the world and then when he gets in the ring he delivers too, its no coincidence that when CHIKARA had a match to decide its Grand Champion on its 10th anniversary show that he succeeded in beating Mike Quackenbush, he's still the champion a year and a half later. He was trained by both Quackenbush and Chris Hero, again two guys that could out wrestle most WWE guys in their sleep. He's been involved in matches with Daniel Bryan and Kevin Steen (who he beat recently when they had champion v champion match of Chikara v ROH).
Here's a couple of his promos to showcase him:

And here's a match v Chris Hero https://youtu.be/6SMxvnmgmHc

What about Adam Pearce?
Or as he's now appeared on TNA does that invalidate him?

Grado- The Ayrshire Rock, this guy is funny as...., he's not a terrible wrestler by any means but his real strength is his promo's (Warning, I have no idea how he translates outside Scotland)

Weirdly enough I was watching Grado last night with the videos of him trialling out etc and just chatting with people backstage, he's a looker! He's got a match coming up with Colt Cabana in the coming weeks.

Can I ask, does Eddie Kingston remind anyone else of Eddie, Chandler's replacement roomate from Friends?

The next guy I wanted to showcase to is a guy that sooner rather than later is going to be snapped up by WWE of which I have no doubt.

Uhaa Nation

A weird name huh?
Named so because his weight lifting coach thought he had the strength of a nation. The easiest way to describe Uhaa is he has the look of Bobby Lashley yet the wrestling moves of Chris Sabin and Scott Steiner combined. He's the wrestling equivilant of a Bumblebee, he simply shouldn't be able to hit standing shooting star presses as well as gorilla press drops but he does and he combines them into a finisher known as the Uhaa Combination (with an added standing moonsault in the middle for good measure!).
Uhaa is currently one of the top stars in Dragon Gate USA, he PPV debuted v Brodie Lee who's becoming more well known now as one of Bray Wyatt's followers Luke Harper and he decimated him. He was named best newcomer of the year in 2011 by Dragon Gate USA and also came second in Wrestling Observer's Rookie of the Year. In 2012 though he suffered a career threatening knee injury that kept him out for nearly a year, he returned this February and he's looking once again to be a force to be reckoned with.

Here's a few videos to demonstrate him:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X756eoIzVcs

Uhaa v AR Fox (another guy to look out for!)

Uhaa v Cyber Kong

There were about 15+ videos on youtube at one point that was made by a CZW fan which chronicled the Hero/Kingston feud from a few years ago. It was done as a timeline and it was some of the most engaging work from an 'amateur' video editor and the feud itself was amazing. Not sure if they're still on youtube though
