THE OMPL CHAMPIONS CUP

Welcome to the OMPL Champions Cup

This cup will take place over a set number of weeks (which will be dependant on number of entrants). At the end we will crown the OMPL Champions Cup winner.

The winner of the cup will carry over 5 'BONUS POINTS' into Season 5 of the OMPL when it begins. Given the close nature of the majority of the seasons so far I am sure you will agree this is a great prize and may very well prove to be invaluable come the end of next season.
The format of the cup is as follows:

Stage 1: The first 3 weeks will consist of Group Stages which will be drawn in the coming days. Entrants will be seeded based on there finishing position in Season 4 of the OMPL. You will then play each person in the group once with 3 points awarded to for a win & 1 for a draw.

Stage 2: After 3 weeks the tournament will change into a knockout format containing the Winner of each group and the 2 best runner up's from all the groups.

Below you will find the rules & the scoring system – Please note that when it comes to the scoring you cannot have one without the other. That is to say if you fail to predict the winner you will not score points for method etc. YOU HAVE TO PREDICT THE WINNER TO GET THE OTHER POINTS.

So, what happens with the voided fights again? Looks like our group is all down to C&R's other wildcard. If I've worked this out right (and there's every chance I haven't) C&R needs a full score of 6 doubled with the WC to win the group and put me 3rd. Anything other than that and I'm top. Group of death!

ha ha ive just been looking at this and couldnt find the result, did it get cancelled?

i doubt i'll do it pal ive barely got anything spot on this weekend. don't say i didn't warn you about having two stinkers after starting so well

Agreed Trenchtown...

Very Cruel indeed...I was going to strike the result but then that also seems unfair on PPV & Hibbz. If they are happy for me to give your result as a forfeit and award you the 3 points then I will. However that means PPV you would go into the Euro Cup instead of Trenchtown...

Up to you guys and what people are happy with, though I need to know by later this afternoon as the draw for the Quarter Finals will be taking place!!

To those who have made it through to your relative quarter finals, i.e. either Champions Cup or Euro Cup next weeks fights are up so start predicting now, deadline will be 18.00 Friday 28th June.

I will do the draw for the Quarter Finals later on today and will put up the fixtures on Monday or Tuesday to add some suspense.

Compelling - Wilcard switched to Bika which was the other one your opponent had. To be fair even if you had finished 2nd in another group with 76...you still would have been in the Euro Cup because WHU_Champo scored higher than you and 88chris05 scored the same but had more points! So..thank your stars your in the Euro Cup Whistle

its all if and buts as different group different points. never seem to do well in head to head format. i won the fantasy football league in normal format but exactly the same players in the head to head format i came 11th!!

After reading this, I'm glad that I didn't torpedo Chris in our group by returning for his fixture, that would've been very harsh. Bloody tight at the top though!

The thing is I am prepared to just roll with the results rather than give Ozzy more work than he already has, mabe next league/cup if people do not submit there predictions they will be barred for the remaining "no excuses" allowed.

I may sound a little bitter but if I had a freeb the last round I would of been top of the group but if Eyetoldyouso had competed throughout it may have been a little different and then I wouldn't have nothing to moan about but never mind just go with the results mate and whatever happens Happens! apologies to PPV and hibbz I'm not taking anything away from your wins. thumbsup

Now I have lost I've decided I'm shutting it down and cancelling the whole thing!

To be honest union warned me this would start to happen! Run a bloody cup competition that I can't even do well in!

Trenchtown thanks for the consideration regards more work for me! I have said those who signed up and failed to predict will be punished by not being allowing entry into the next cup! Also done the same for the league! I can understand people have issues come up or what have you which is fine...but as I said before at least drop me an email to apologise or inform me you won't be able to commit! It does spoil the competition a little as I had set it up assuming set number of participants etc! Anyhow moving forward I will put the fixtures for the Quarter Finals up on Tuesday...in the meantime if you have made it through then predict away!
