I'm puzzled that Jack Jones plays for the Ospreys but his club is Rovigo. Maybe he's on loan or something?

Is this game televised anywhere?

Also, I believe Harri Evans' club is Llandudno RFC, I think his semi-professional region are RGC 1404 and I suspect his professional region are the Scarlets.
Wales606: I don't know. However, I would like to watch it so I want it to be televised.

I think he is on loan or something like that, maybe an Osprey clear this up?
As I said elsewhere, the team contains 3 debutants and hopefully the reserve fly-half gets a chance. Hopefully the score against Samoa is the same as last year...

This game isn't televised, so good luck finding a link. The remaining games against Scotland and Argentina are televised and should be on Sky Sports.

It's such a shame, Patchell and Allen would make our backline really pop!!!
Still, hoping for a semi final, and if we manage Samoa, and Scotland performances we have of late topping the seedings is possible, meaning we get the 2nd place team, that may even be Argy or Scotland too, but I am being very optimistic!

He is on loan out there, they did the same thing with Scott Baldwin a couple of seasons ago and it worked out well for him.

Thats not a bad looking team. Sam Davies had a tough time from the fans in the Six Nations, but he did a lot right.
Will be interesting to see if the lads can match last years performance.

If they had Cory Allen and Patchell I think this team could beat anyone bar perhaps the Baby Blacks - as it is, they lack a reliable goal kicker and defender at 10 and will miss the defensive organisation of Allen out wide.
The lack of a high percentage goal kicker is the real blow - in previous years they have always had a better kicker - Morgan, Shingler even Jarvis.

Spot on. Even Morgan was a better defender than Davies and could do a lot with the ball in hand... Compared to Davies who can do next to nothing. Best 10 in Wales my @ss!
Prydie was the No.1 kicker last year by the way, and I believe he may have set a record for points scored(?)

According to the WRU on Twitter, Wales are leading Samoa 18-3*. I think this is a good start for Wales.

Not on S4C online like I lead to believe then. Keep the updates coming as some of us don't have Twitter .

FT score according to WRU on Twitter; Wales 42 Samoa 3. I wanted Wales to get off to a winning start. Now they can look forward for the Scotland game next Sunday, Scotland are playing Argentina in Nantes today KO 7pm UK time. I suspect it's the same ground as the Wales Samoa game which was also played in Nantes.

Big win, good start - pity it wasn't televised
Unfortunately, this championship isn't as exciting for me without Patchell and Allen - I really enjoyed some of Allen's performances last year (his defensive performance against the Baby Blacks was the best I have ever seen at this level)

Satisfied with that win, Samoa must be tougher opposition than last year. Wales U20 should be targeting top seed so they'll need all the points they can get.

Yeah, I think it's a shame that the Wales seniors are touring the same time as the U20 JWC because I agree with you that Patchell would have been good competition for the likes of Sam Davies at fly-half. Also, I believe Wales sevens have a WC this month, so Cory Allen is with them, I think he would have been good competition for the likes of Steffan Hughes and Jack Dixon. I think it's a shame that three Welsh international sides are playing important games all in the same calendar month.

Allen is injured and requires surgery
He was named in the original squad

Hardly unexpected on previous tournaments.Think Argies finished 5th last time and usually have a strong pack whilst the Scots tend to be a bit lacking up front. We must compete up front against them big time.GavinDragon wrote:Argentina beat scotland
I agree that it's a shame that we are not at full strength but Patchell will benefit from playing with the big boys.

I take it as a massive positive (and another argument in favour of the dreaded 'player drain') that even with players missing we are able to filed such strong national and U20's sides.....

Wow those are some big scores. It looks like the game against Argentina is going to be very competitive! And on sunday I think Scotland might step up the tempo a bit.
On another negative note, Sam Davies missed 3 from 6 conversions. If the report is anything to go by we were a little bit rusty because we couldn't finish off some opportunities but got better as the game went on. The intensity decreased when both teams unloaded their bench.

He was captain of Swansea RFC, the season before last, and this season he went on loan to Rovigo. Scott Baldwin did the same thing the season before.

Glad to see we have Scotland next before the formidable looking Argies.
