Attraction are big favourites with the bookies and they seldom get these things wrong.
Saying that I did lose 200 quid on Susan Boyle a few years back so you never know!
Haven't watched much of it this year. Any tips Treble?

Personally think Attraction are big favourites, I said that straight from the audition. Steve Hewlett's gone from 100's to 20's so could be a shock. I can see the Luminites doing well too.

My mother rang me earlier to put a sneaky fiver on the Luminites.

Attraction have drifted to 5/6 from 1/3 at the start of the night which is massive.
Big bucks has been going on Jack Carroll.

Jack Carroll and Attraction are both evens.
I still think Attraction will win, may put a bit on it.

I'm thinking the same Treble. Might put 20 on Attraction. This could be a bookmaker swerve..

I'd love to see Jack win it regardless of what I've bet on.
A real inspiration there.

Comedy is the hardest thing to pull off.
When you get an arena laughing at your material you're half way there.

Re: Britain's Got Talent
I think it's more difficult to do comedy on something like Britain's Got Talent because you've got to be more PC. He's likeable which is the main reason he did so well, the judges liked him.

At Jack's audition i didn't find him that funny and i thought people were well over the top in there reactions. However at the live shows i have actually found him funny and tbf had a great chance to win.
I agree with the winners, but i wanted Steve to win!

Re: Britain's Got Talent
Attraction shouldn't even have been in the competition, seeing as the show is called BRITAIN's Got Talent, not HUNGARY's Got Talent.
Their first two performances were mind-blowing, but their half-hearted, lazy performance in the Final was so disappointing that I wanted them to lose even more. They did about four shapes, did far too much arm waving, told no story, and used far more props than previously. Very disappointing.
Jack Carroll is NOT funny, it's the classic case of pity laughs because you can't be seen to not be laughing at the crippled kid. Apologies if you know him or are offended by that, but I honestly think his parents should have done the decent thing and withdrawn him after his original audition, which was so unfunny it actually made me want to physically hurt his parents for subjecting the lad to such obvious pity laughs. I thought he WAS the joke, rather than being the teller of jokes. Poor lad.
Steve Hewlett was brilliant, and should have won. That guy has scary good talent.
The Luminites were really good throughout too, Despite not being my cup of tea I thought they were a really interesting blend, and they performed very well.
The rest were awful, including Richard & Judy and that awful 'impressionist'.
I felt most sorry for Pre-Skool though, whoever did the choreography for them must have been high. Repetitive moves, music far, far too old for them (they were cute in the previous rounds, and were made to dance to stuff like Beyonce!), and the routine didn't give them a chance to be cute. I felt really sorry for them as well.
An interesting night, but I wish it wasn't 2.5 hours long!

Re: Britain's Got Talent
Britain's got Talent? A group from Hungary won it this year and a DOG won it last year!
I also thought Attraction where poor in the final compared to their first audition which had a story and was moving.
Really liked the Luminites - we'll definitely be hearing more from them soon.
Jack Carroll is not funny at all. Didn't even raise a smile to his jokes, boring. How the hell did he come second?

They were all Butlins standard, bar Attraction, who were at least, different.
Actually the impressionist was sleazy pub standard.

Re: Britain's Got Talent
What annoyed me about the impressionist was all the talk about it being a 2nd chance for her etc, that she'd given up fame for her kids etc.
Balony!
She was on the C4 impressionist programme Very Important People only last year.

I'll never understand how you can do ventriloquism, to such a high standard that you can actually do sort of accents of voices.
Not only is the talent good, but his act in the final was on a whole other level to his audition and semi final performance.

I think the main trick is to make it look like you're listening to the puppets, that's what separates the great from the good. Any fans should have a look at Nina Conti, brilliant.

I indulged in much eye-rolling when she appeared on QI but by the end she was the highlight of the show.

The person who threw the egg at Cowell was by the far the most talented person to ever enter

Given she didn't hit Cowell in the face, I'd have to disagree.GSC wrote:The person who threw the egg at Cowell was by the far the most talented person to ever enter
Steve Hewitt could possibly work on keeping his face a tad more neutral but his routine and skill were top notch. Ray Alan/Lord Charles, Roger deCourcey/Nookie Bear, Keith Harris/Orville...he's got some big shoes to fill
I liked Jack Carroll and not just cos he's from Yorkshire. I thought he was very funny, very clever and it's a pity he suffers from Cerebral Palsy as the "sympathy" factor detracted from the fact that he's got a genuine comic talent for comedy. I hope he keeps at it and hones his craft as I think he has a future

I agree with this. I think people focused to heavily on his disability.
I think of all the talents on the show, his was the hardest to do. I doubt any of the successful stand up comics now would have the confidence and wit at 14 as Jack Carroll does so I hope he keeps it up and gets better. It's obvious he still had flaws and he perhaps relied on his disability as a crux, but most stand ups have a crux that they fall back on, so he's no different in that regard.
I think he's obviously very naturally funny, he seems more funny when it's more spontaneous. I can see him working in kid's TV as a kid stand up as that is something a bit different that I don't think I've ever seen on children's TV, he can be their Frankie Boyle or whatever, and he can make jokes about kid's things and then if he has kept it up he can make the step up to the stand up circuit when he's an adult.

I didn't realise he had a disability when I first watched him and still thought he wasn't funny. Kids won't be, IMO. They haven't lived, and won't tell a story that rings true.

I'd be surprised if this was true. I think he's mentioned his disability in every routine he's done so I'd question if you were actually listening to him.

I switched over when he was on. My mrs told me he had cerebral palsy afterwards. So yes, it was true. He's not funny, disability or not.

I'd also say that the lad had three minutes to showcase his talent. We've essentially seen less than ten minutes of him. Some comics take twice that long to get warmed up
