What kept you, JimBob?
Thanks for the thread. I suspect Lewis will edge Linley out as he did on day one at Guildford. The other to miss out will probably be one of Keedy, Ansari and de Bruyn. Tricky as I'm not sure that Adams will trust Ansari as the only slow bowler - hmmm.
Anyone up for a sweepstake on the total number of no balls bowled in the match by Jordan and Lewis?

Anyone heading down? Should be a great game. I might head down on Friday, live an hour away from Arundel but never been to there ground before, i understand it is rated quite highly, in the sense of its attractiveness. Surrey have a few stars on show and Prior and Wright will be playing for Sussex, so one thing is for sure, it will be a great match!
Good luck lads!

Re: surrey vs sussex county championship
If the game goes significantly into a 4th day, I plan to try and sell the arractiveness of the ground to Mrs Bat for a Saturday outing. However, I fear I'll be bowling on a flat track!NickisBHAFC wrote:Anyone heading down? Should be a great game. From a Middlesex perspective I must say I won't be too disappointed if this one is drawn

Sussex 62-2 at Lunch
Chris Nash has be doing it frequently this season, getting going into the 30's and losing a wicket softly.
Yardy and Joyce batting.

That's right, JimBob!
If Sussex are on around 300-5 at stumps today, they'll be looking to get 400 plus by around lunchtime tomorrow and then twice bowl us out cheaply in the remaining five sessions.
Given that a whole day has been lost already, we shouldn't lose from here. However, its 2 or 3 wins we need rather than 4 or 5 draws!

Re: surrey vs sussex county championship
Wicket for Zafar! I think his first CC wicket in almost two years (Robert Key?).
That one wicket makes much better scoreboard reading for Surrey. 205-5.

Re: surrey vs sussex county championship
295 all out. Hmmmm not ideal at all. I can only see a draw tbh, unless we bowl superbly well and get Surrey all out for something stupid.
Good to see Mike Yardy hit 69 and Sir Chris Jordan hitting 41. So some positives there. Its great to see Yardy improve with the bat this season.
Time for Jordan and Magoffin to work there magic!!!

Re: surrey vs sussex county championship
For once, a decent day. Good team performance. Particularly fine fightback in the last session. Credit as well to Burns and Harinath batting out the last few minutes.
Pleased for Viscount bagging a fourfer. Always gives his best and hasn't had much luck for a while.
Two cracking catches by Ponting according to Churchy.
Still very difficult to see the game going anywhere with only 2 days left but at least we're not hanging on by our fingertips tonight.

A considerable relief to find we've had a reasonable day. Pleased to see Ansari given a chance.

Burns could have been run out first ball. Then Harinath dropped by Joyce. Now Burns dropped by Yardy

Being pressurised into taking your sickdays, Corporal?
Anyway, 230 odd - 3 at tea. We're certainly on top but dsperately short of time. Maybe go gung ho for 20 overs in today's final session and then declare to give them 10 tonight ....

Guildford - am indeed off sick today. You are right about Surrey's epic performance against Essex - that we did come back strongly for a draw. And without looking up the details I would be pretty sure that Roger Knight got a decent score in the second innings.

Thanks - Guildford.
I agree - looks like strange tactics - maybe we are digging in to try and get a fifth batting point in the morning?
