Joshu Ward Hibbert has crashed out in straight sets but David Rice is a set up and a break up in his match against Sebastian Rieschick (Germany).

David Rice through to the next round but looking grim for Dan Evans. He is trailing 3-0 to La Nava (Spain).

Don't you think "crashed out" is maybe a little dramatic?

Perhaps - eliminated then is that better?

Probably. Crashing out to me has connotations of either losing to someone you shouldn't have or the scoreline being horribly one-sided, neither of which occurred.

Dan Evans appears to be crashing out however!

Dan Evans appears to have awoken from the coma he was in.

The wonderfully named Jimmy Wang has taken the first set against whoever he's playing.

Boy? How unimaginative!!
Anyway, I know this doesn't belong here but Kyle Edmund is playing against Kenny de Schepper and has gone an early break up.

Wang wins! (Never thought I'd say that - sounds like the worst game of rock, paper, scissors ever).

Whatever happens next, Edmund will serve for his first tour victory!! He's 5-3 at the moment.

Well done to him!! His second round opponent? Gilles Simon! However, I saw a picture of Gilles earlier today and he has very heaving strapping on one of his ankles.

Its a win that earns him 20 ranking points and by my rough calculations that should move him up from No.442 to No.390 or thereabouts.

And it's well known that Simon has a poor record against British players.
Actually, that got me thinking, when was the last time Murray played a Brit? Rusedski? Henman? Or has he had a first round against a Wild Card

The last time he played Henman (Bangkok, can't remember the year)? I have no idea, good question.

Wang wins another match. Baker's taken the first set v Kunitsyn but, alas, Bogdanovic lost in 3.

Hopefully there is a player out there called Kerr for the dream match-up - Wang/Kerr .

Like that classic old cricket commentary:'The batsman's Holding the bowler's Willey.'

Fu/King are playing today/tomorrow.
Disappointingly all Kerr's are inactive, but there is a King racked 400 or so in the world. Oh, and retired player named Numbers.

Fairly sure Jordan Kerr is still playing - I believe he played in Nottingham.

Ah, I see what has happened here, I think he had/s 0 ranking points, playing almost completely on the double circuit and therefore didn't show up.

The Wang man is a set and a break up. Also, Fu lost to King (and I think it was Fu - King on the scoreboard too )

I think the best we can hope for is that he draws Monaco in Round 1. Then we'd have Wang - Monaco
