How will the billionaire cope at home in mid-june in the skiing off season?

I hope he recovers quickly, gets some practise in, gets over to Scotland-land and wins the Open. Super - you'd be able to pop down the road with a banner to support him...

Seems he injured it at the TPC. He certainly looked as if he was having problems at the US Open which, with the benefit of hindsight, his decision to play at a 'roughed-up' Merion turned out to be unwise. Perhaps the lure of winning at an historic venue proved to be too much of a temptation.

How long does it take for a strained elbow to heal anyway?  I fancy a lot longer for a 37 year old than a 27 year old.  He certainly won't find any cures in the Muirfield rough!

For such a "tough" and big "gym bufty" he's incredibly injury prone.

Perhaps therein lies the problem.  Too much gym work?

Indeed Gael, I think probably as harmful to a golf game as being a Shane Lowry type.

Odd that someone able to generate more energy swinging a golf club than most suffers more injuries.

Yet, with all the sports science undoubtedly behind him he still gets injuries.

Always surprised me how hard he tries to hit the ball. He's long enough not to need to. Sure he would have won more majors playing at 90% swing.

s_r ... we'd probably all be winning majors if only we all played at 90%!

Odd? No, I don't think so. Perhaps the two are more than coincidence? Certainly, he looks like he'll do himself an injury more often than he does trying to hit the skin off the ball trying to keep up with the younger bombers out there.

I think he was being facetious Navy.
It's a dreadful swing and I'm surprised in light of his approaching 40th that he's not modelling his swing on something that will see him through those late career years.
Can you imagine him swinging like that when he is Els' or Jiminez's age? Ambulance on speed dial.

No...I'd say its precisely the opposite Mac. The more muscles are developed and the more energetically they are utilised, the more stress they put on joints/ligaments/tendons.

What does surprise me a bit is with the access he must have to sports science, biomechanical & biometric profiling nutrition and all sorts of that kind of stuff he STILL pushes himself to and beyond breakdown point.

In his younger days he hit it way harder? Seems he has taken 10 yds off his driver/3 wood the last few years.

Re the elbow injury: maybe he just took up skiing?
