At this stage should I buy a PS4 or XBOX One

First topic message reminder :

Currently mulling over the choice for the end of the year whent he new conoles come out. Purely from what we know so far which do you guys think will be the better console and why? Leaving aside brand preferances and the fact MS have severly peed me off by being stupid with my live account, which do we think the average gamer such as myself should go for and why? All advice is greatly appreciated.

I've changed my order and gone to Game. They should have it with me by the end of the week

Set my XBOX One up last night, FIFA plays completely different to the last gen consoles. It feels more fluid, in fact is the perfect predecessor to FIFA 13. The menus are smooth, just a fantastic game. I genuinely can't wait to see what they do in FIFA 15.

I've also tried NBA 2K14, and all I can say is wow. These games were always superb to look at at on the PS3 and XBOX 360, but they've taken that to a new level on the next gen consoles. The new parts to My Career are superb, you have an agent to sort out deals for you etc. A fantastic all round game.

Is the agent part on the Fifa games Paul?

2 days to go for the boys and me. Games wise we've got;

FIFA
Skylanders Swapforce
Zoo Tycoon
Need for Speed Rivals
Dead Rising 3 (for me)
Battlefield 4 (for me)

Also going to download Max and the Curse of Brotherhood for them once I've got it set up.

Is it a quick set up process btw (and straight forward?)

Loving it mate, it's great to see the crowd react in FIFA. Played Dead Rising last night, the opening sequence is superb.

I ordered an Xbox one last night with Fifa 14 included it said that it was in stock on Amazon and the delivery date is the 24th which is tomorrow.

Hampo, how long does the initial update take?

Not to long, took about 10 minutes I think. Installing the games takes a little longer.

The Fifa download will take quite a while (my Forza one took ages) but you can play it while it's only partially downloaded.

All the games I've got are hard versions rather than going for the download options (except I'll be getting Killer Instinct and Max & the Curse of Brotherhood on download) so presume I'll be fine on those.

Even the disc versions get installed now. Stops the discs from getting scratched when they're used a lot so it's a handy feature.

Buy neither, we're adults, concern yourself with more grown up pursuits. Use the money you will save to buy books or something more rewarding.
