Prizefighter - Light Welterweights
Anyone excited by this, or is the format on it's last legs?
Eight gladiators lining up for the latest instalment this coming Saturday, and I haven't heard of one of them.
A combined record of 63-8-3 suggests some talent (five of those losses are Danny Connor's), four of the lads are unbeaten, but many are some short of their tenth pro outing.
However, the same could have been said for the tournament which "our Glenn" ended up winning, and that was a cracking night of action.
Could we be in for a classic?

Was 'our Glenn' the lad with the really gross hairy mole on his arm? From the NE somewhere?
That was a cracking evening's entertainment I thought. Think it was the first installment where there were ko bonuses.

Re: Prizefighter - Light Welterweights
Eddie Hearn is interviewed in last months Boxing Monthly and he seems keen to reign back the number of Prizefighters a year as this will give him a few more spaces for his growing stable and will also allow him to make Prizefighter into a bit more of an event because as you have alluded to the level of fighters they seem to be attracting in recent shows is a bit hit and miss, and that is being kind.

4 shows a year max would be fine.

Think Hearn realises that Prizefighter gets good figures so is keen to keep it being aired, as much as us hardcore fans aren't particularly fans of it the casuals seem to enjoy it.

i think prizefighter is an excellent way of boosting a young fighters career, but because of the 3 round format its always going to favour agressive fighters.

Re: Prizefighter - Light Welterweights
He has the prizefighter as a undercard sometimes or put fighters between rounds
Mitchell is on the bill tonight and Yafai was on a while ago so expect to see this more often
Instead of having Burns vs someone then trying to make an undercard he could just have a prizefighter to last a couple hours to get the viewers up

My money was on the guy who just got beat. Good job I didn't give any advice when it mattered.

Jenkins looks good, will probably struggle to fight like this in the other fights though

I backed Taylor who looked crap and the kid who got overwhelmed by Arif. Not confident!

Actually watched and enjoyed this prize fighter. The lad that won seemed like a decent prospect, hopefully we will see a bit more of him as I'm sure Hearn would have go him signed.
