Double handled golf club
It's always seemed bizarre to me that we have to stand with our upper bodies tilted away from the target particularly with the driver; would a club with a forked handle with separate grips for both hands be illegal?-Anyone ever seen such a device? It can't really be good for our backs to be tilted like this.

SP I'm guessing this is a tongue in cheek sort of post, because I'd hate to see the size of the bag you'd need to hump around the course

I'd only suggest this for the driver, but no; dead serious, I strongly suspect that it would be 'illegal' in competition terms but would even up the shoulders and make it much easier for the average golfer-nothing wrong with that surely

It would be illegal under any conditions.

Sorry. Don't get it. Upper bodies tilted away from the target?

Re: Double handled golf club
In order to place your right hand below your left (for a right handed golfer), your upper body has to tilt to the right i.e. 'away from the target'.

Not really. All I have to do is lower my right shoulder a tiny bit. It's certainly not a significant tilt away from the target.

Re: Double handled golf club
It also depends what you see as your target. When I'm trying to hit the golf ball I would suggest that my target is the golf ball which my upper body is tilted towards. Where the ball goes is just a result of the angle of the club at impact and any spin imparted?
Just a thought.
Just a thought.

Re: Double handled golf club
There have always been weird and not so wonderful training aids to try and improve our golf and at the same time relieve us of our cash.
Medicus have a dual handled putting trainer attachment:-

and if you want an uncomfortable looking club attachment see the diagram at the bottom of this patent:-
