That was a good ball to remove a dangerous batsman.

there is no point warching the ashes series this summer. aussies simply have zero chance of beating the mighty england team.

Anderson strikes again! His 3rd wicket of the innings.
Starc edges to slip for just 1 run and Aus are 211-8.
The fat lady has finished her vocal exercises and is making her way to the stage.
On an unrelated note, why has everyone suddenly turned into trebell clones?

5-0 Aussie looks more likely with Godgar smashing it around out there.
If you took his contribution out of this game it might have been different but you found him from somewhere.

Looks like England will have this wrapped up well before lunch. Short day for the spectators but I'm sure the England contingent won't mind.
Still, we can't get complacent. Expect Australia to come back fighting in the 2nd Test. They're not nearly as poor as many people were predicting and will give England a run for their money.

Worst ever. He has to be dropped. Offers next to nothing to the side. Khawaja deserves another chance, imo.

Godgar comes back out at at 11 to do it all again. That was just a free preview.
He may not be needed with siddle smashing England out of the park here.

Cowan's been playing No.3
That said, he does look to be the weak link in an otherwise decent (on paper) batting lineup. Smith has got talent and is a great future prospect, but you need the likes of Watson, Clarke, Hughes etc. to step up and make some big scores.

Re: The Ashes: 1st Test, Trent Bridge - Final Day & Post Match Discussions
Starc , to my mind , is more of a hitter with a good eye than a batsman. Could have been dangerous ( bit like the other left arm Mitchell) but not surprised to see him out quickly.
With Siddle in we are back to proper batting - he has worked hard on his, and Haddin is well in now.
Still work to do , and the tricky bit comes when Jimmy has to rest. Game is not over yet. England need to keep pressing...

I'm sure Swann and Finn will deputise quite capably.

But he pleads guilty (in Adelaide) and said he thought it "hit his pad" yesterday. At least he has the guts to say something.
Broad, on the other hand, is simply a bad sportsman and a cheat. It runs in the family you know.

Much better.
Final cook listens to me.
And now we are down to the usual 160 making Aussie final partnership.
