The Best Knockouts Empty The Best Knockouts

Post by mobilemaster8 Tue Jul 16, 2013 12:10 am

Just a fun article really to hear some views on the greatest knockouts you have seen.

A couple that stick in my mind:

Rahman vs Lewis 2 - Amazing jab and right hand straight on the button knocking Rahman cold.

Hearns vs Duran - blitzed in round one but the finishing shot in round 2 was amazing. Straight on the jaw with no defence. Was a super punch.

what about you guys? What sticks in your mind?

Will leave it for someone else to wax lyrical about Robinson Fullmer but for a reaonably obscure one you could do worse than Wayne Alexander separating Takaloo from his senses, absolutely brutal.

Ray Leonard - Andy Price..........Leonard's left hooks were like blurs with Price trapped on the ropes........Interesting to see a guy go from conscious to semi-conscious to unconscious in the space of ten seconds..........

Nelson - Cowdell.........beautiful........

Hearns-Shuler.........The perfect right hand..

Nunn - Kalambay.........Strange watching how an accomplished pro could make such an amateurish mistake..

Calvin Brock on Zuri Lawrence has always been a favourite of mine, the way Lawrence just drops to the floor is quite sickening.

Honeyghan on Curry. Just so unexpected at the time

James Bonecrusher Smith on Bruno.

Quite liked Gavin Henson getting Ko'd in a Bath bar....

Still reckon the best one I've seen is Jimmy Thunder's 1 punch destruction of Crawford Grimsley is the best

Haha! Sutherland! That was a very funny fight to be fair.

as was Hensons KO defeat against his own team mate in a bar Sean. Was classic "sit down and stop gobbing off".

Before being sacked by Toulon he was knocked out twice in one night team mates. Even then he tried have a further go. Nasty piece of work by all accounts and ironically no one mentioned his missus. It was him stating that he could smash any one of their wives or partners if he wanted to.

Leonard certainly knew how to finish Nico...Can't be many greater finishers in the sport..If he had you going...you were gone....

One from the old days would be Johnson - Ketchel.............Supposed to go 15 but Ketchel took the liberty of trying to steal the title..........and was crushed by a devastating shot..........

Just think If Johnson hadn't have got up..........Ketchel probably becomes a top 20 all time great.........

Is Gavin Henson really a woman's dream man? Looks like a bit of a woofta with all that fake tan and a swift one to the chops and he folds like a deck of cards. All you'd have to do is cheap shot him when he's chatting up your bird.

I have a DVD with that fight on, well most of the fight, it actually skips the two knockdowns. Very odd.

Bramble - Rosario..........Is one i watch a lot.....25 years later I still struggle to see how a guy fighting on a card that was to lead to a million dollar showdown and who prided himself on having a "Coconut head" just allows himself to be battered on the ropes and then quits......in just two rounds...

Surreal at the time and still Is!!!!!!!!!
