Goal You Wish You Had Scored Empty Goal You Wish You Had Scored

Post by Dolphin Ziggler Fri Jul 26, 2013 10:56 pm

To steal a topic I heard on TalkSport (things have got that boring for me), they were discussing the goal you wish you had scored. Not some super skilled goal you wish you could go out and score on Sunday morning, but say Di Canio's goal against Wimbledon, Aguero against QPR or Cantona in the cup final against Liverpool.

An existing goal basically. You can't go out and put a goal in in extra time of a cup final that you deserved to bloody win but that Scouse c*nt popped up and ruined.

Sorry, lost myself a bit. I would be choosing that Paolo goal, although the Tevez goal at old Trafford, Vaz Te at Wembley, Brooking at Wembley (for one before my time) or even Yossi's goal against Spurs on lasagne day all stick in my head. Obviously, we all think of Geoff Hurst and 66, but its so bleedingly obvious so don't bother!

Non west ham ones would be Aguero's title winner, Steve Bruce in 93, Giggs' wonder goal, Beckham's Greece Freekick and Solskjaer's Champ League final goal.

Paul Scholes vs Villa, Tony Yeboah vs Liverpool, Zidane vs Leverkusen and Di Canio vs Wimbledon. I love a volley in football and they all caught the ball so sweetly.

Would loved to have scored any of the following for West Brom: Kieran Richardson's goal in the Great Escape win over Portsmouth, Brunt against Southampton to get promotion, Any of Odemwingie's hat trick against Wolves and Paul Scharner's winner against Villa.

Non-WBA, Gerrard's 2nd against West Ham in the cup final, I can see from the original post that Chris loved that goal...Also Gerrard's against Olympiakos. Michael Owen's hat trick goal against Germany and then a random one, Phillipe Albert's chip for the 5th(?) goal against Man United. Oh, and Berbatov's overhead kick against Liverpool for United, purely because I love Berba so much.

Yeah I think any of Gerrard's big goals, so the one against Olympiakos, the second against West Ham or the one in Istanbul would all be great. Owen's second goal in the FA Cup Final 2001.

Watson for Wigan vs city would be a good one for the whole moment and underdog story.

But I'd go for agueroooooooooooo vs QPR, you can only imagine what was going through his head after he scored

For club it has to be Michael Thomas' last minute winner at Anfield in 1989.

For country, Gazza's volley against the Scots at Euro 96.

I wish I scored Frank Lampards goal vs Barcelona a few years ago... It was a sublime effort...

Would also have loved to score his volley vs Munchen years ago.

I dont know how often this goal gets shown in England, but I would have loved to score this for the sheer audacity

Di Matteo, FA Cup final 97. Jesper Gronkjaer vs Liverpool on last day of 02/03 season to clinch UCL football and make the club known to Mr Abramovich.

Any of Lampard's two vs Bolton to clinch the title in 05.

Any Drogba cup final goal. There's too many to choose from.

And similar to Wigan. Martins for Birmingham against Arsenal in the League Cup final. Comedy defending and goalkeeping!

Without a doubt Sergio Torres' injury time winner against Derby County for (at the time) non league Crawley Town in the FA Cup 3rd Round. Scuffed corner to the edge of the area...

Nonsense. Nobody gave them a cat in hells chance of getting anything at Eastlands and don't forget they were playing with 10 men for most of the 2nd half.

If anything QPR contributed more to that final day drama than they were ever given credit for.

Would you say Bayern capitulated in 1999 then Ent?

Ent that is complete nonsense IMO.

My favorite ever Brighton goal i would of liked to score would of been this,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_UQtHi5beGg

120th minute header from Sir Adam Virgo.

At club level, I would either go Owen against City (4-3) or John O'Shea kop end against against Liverpool (1-0), not exactly spectacular but without doubt two of my favourite goals, or of the more spectacular variety THAT goal by Giggs in 99

At international level I can't look past Gazza against the Scots

Aguerro, absolutely amazing finish, I wouldaa gone crazy.

Also Gerrard vs Olympiakos, watching that goal with Andy Grays commentary still gives me goosebumps.

Dennis Berkamp against Newcastle, which included that amazing trickery. Brillant goal, one of the best.

International - the recent Ibrahimovic vs England spectacular.

Domestic - Trevor Sinclair overhead 30 yarder many moons ago for QPR or that Giggs fa cup goal Vs Arsenal 99 and even the Beckham half way line "here I am" goal.
