SURPRISE! Empty SURPRISE!

Post by ONETWOFOREVER Fri 02 Aug 2013, 3:05 pm

In this day and age it is hard to shock movie goers so a film has to be up to scratch with the twists and turns. Can you name any films that offer a twist you never saw coming????

My top 3 are........

1) The crying game - for obvious reasons (think we was all shocked)
2) The useal Suspects - 1st time I watched it I had to smile at the way they twisted to plot so much that the whole film could have been a haux
3) The Wicker man. - Poor Edward Woodwood gets burnt alive as a sacrifice still a very scary flick.

I only recently watched Nolan's Batman trilogy and over the last few years have managed to distance myself from it to a point where I knew little about it, so when Two-Face made his appearance, I was both shocked and impressed!

The bit in LA confidential where Kevin Spacey meets his end caught me completely off guard first time round.

Deep blue sea. Rousing speech by Jackson followed by dinner time for the shark had me in stitches. Not worth watching the whole film for though. It is dreadful

Me too lol. With it being Samuel L Jackson, I expected him to be in most of the film. Really didnt expect it to happen! Disagree about it being dreadful though, its one of my favourite films!!!

Wreck it Ralph

Switchblade Romance

I suppose the twist in the first Saw movie was good. Sadly, given it followed pretty much the same plot, the ending struggled to have the same impact with each sequel.

How about Star Wars - "What? His dad AND his sister?!?!?!!?"

The Sixth Sense. Copied somewhat by The Others, which wasn't so good.

The Nature of the Beast (1995) has a good twist.

Arlington Road is brilliant. Full of suspense and quite creepy.

It's always a big surprise when Sean Bean manages to survive to the end of a film.

Ryan Gosling finding out he was dating Steve Carrel's daughter in Crazy, Stupid, Love, surprised me. Didn't see that happening.
