Farnborough FC & Paddy Power partnership

Conference South side Farnborough FC have started a, vital to the club's survival, partnership with bookie Paddy Power. The deal means the club will get a fancy new kit and the ground Cherrywood Road will be renamed Paddy Power Park but the naming rights don't end there.

The players and manager have all been made to change their names by deed poll. The manager Spencer Day is now Jose Mourinho, and the squad is now made up of Franz Beckenbauer, Lionel Messi, Bobby Moore, Cafu, Zinedine Zidane, Diego Maradona, Michel Platini, Pele, Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos, Paolo Maldini, Franco Baresi, Johan Cruyff, Ronaldinho, Lev Yashin and, bizarrely, Phil Neal.

I suppose the fact they only have 16 players in the squad is due to those with brains leaving the club.

Farnborough had their first five games postponed but were admitted to play in the Conference South after everyone changed their names back to their real names.

Paddy Power aren't happy but I couldn't give any fckus about them. If I was in the team I would rather leave the club than change my name.
