**The 606v2 Horses Noted In Running Thread**
Just thought i'd put up a thread for anyone to post up any horses they see 'in running' that catch the eye. Would be interesting to see how they get on in the future as i'm sure we've all noted ones from time to time, only to forget about them and for them to go and win when we've forgotten about them.
I'll start us off with two that i've noted over the last week that really caught my eye -
DEVER DREAM
This one ran at Lingfield on Saturday in the Group 3 Chartwell Fillies Stakes and although looking at the bare result and also the race comments you would think probably ran to his merits but if you look at the race Eddie Ahern never managed to get her a clear run at any point in the last couple of furlongs. Not saying he rode it that way on purpose however it did appear that he passed up every opportunity to pull out for a clear run and actually seemed to run into the back of one of the other runners to stall her run. She was backed in from 8's down to 9/2 on the day and i really think that she possibly would have won the race if things were in her favour. She has entries in a couple of Group rasces over at Leopardstown but also the Windsor Forest at Royal Ascot. Definitely one to keep an eye on.
ALEJANDRO
One that stood out miles from yesterdays racing at York was Alejandro. No luck at all in running and was squeezed, denied a run and then switched behind Gatepost in the 2yo race over 5furlongs, he was beaten 6 lengths but that would have been alot less given a clear run. He stayed on at the end but it was all too late and Paul Hanagan was not over agressive to improve the position as he knew all hope of victory was gone. If you get a chance to watch the replay then i'd urge you too as it tells the whole story.

So there's two from me .... Feel free to post any that catch your eye in the future.

Ive got a notebook full to be honest but i picked up one last night at Donny.
ONE WAY OR ANOTHER
For all that hes a bridle horse and when he runs over 6 he looks like he wants 7 and when he runs over 7 he looks like he want 6,the fact is he is becoming fairly treated. He was the last off the bit as usual yesterday but he was certainly done no favours by the draw and he ran home nicely under considerate handling by Sanders.Effective between 6 and 7,i think he needs a little bit of juice in the ground,he might just pop in at rewarding odds.

CITY OF THE KINGS
Ran in the mile handicap at Ripon today. They went a crazy pace and he was sat well off it.Still 5 or 6 lenghts down with 2 to run he really motored home but was just touched off in a blanket finish.Hes on a decent mark, likes deceht ground and loves Ripon. One to bear in mind for a similar event as long as Mr Handicapper doesnt go to daft.

CRY FURY
Ran in the opener at Haydock today,a 1m4 hcap.He absolutely cantered round and 3 out looked a massive player but he found little when let down and weakened to finish out the money.A drop back to 10 might prove the trick.

GATEPOST
Ran in the Coventry and got the proper Jamie "Frank" Spencer treatment, came from miles back to be in the mix for the placings.Has to be worth another shot but JP is the owners retained jockey so unless you think hes got 7lb in hand then just leave him be.
ZIGATO
Buick must have thought he was riding Sea Bird,he was a conservative 15l of the leaders with three to go,yet he stormed home and ended up being in the photo for second. If this isnt a Listed/Group 3 horse running in handicaps then im giving this game up.Will be watching for this fella in the Pitmans Derby and then maybe some of the better staying events come the Autumn.

Gatepost was very taking for sure. Wouldn't be that hard on Spencer though. Horse didn't exactly get home in thr final furlong.

FIORENTE was a notebook horse before he ran today and now hes just underlined in thick red crayon.Strange tactics for the first half mile but loads to like about the way he stormed up the straight,i reckon if he had a little more race experience then he might almost have won because he seemed to hold fire for a while before he got the hang of what he was being asked to do.If this doesnt win a real decent pot or two before the seasons end then i am gonna give it up.

8.25 at Down Royal
Mossey Joe looked likely to win despite giving the field the guts of 30lbs in some casesz. Unfortunatly a horror mistake three out put paid to his chances. He's still looks like a well handicapped horse if he turns up in the galway plate. Geraghty was rightly easy on the horse afterwards.
Predateur who came second in said race has now runs well twice for JJ Lambe after a few years in the wilderness after leaving Paul Nicholls. Either the Plate or the handicap over the plate distance on the Tuesday should suit.

COIN OF THE REALM
Ran in the Duke of Edinburgh today.A draw in six is normally good at Ascot but they chose to come wide even on the round course and he was forced to drop in plum last and race widest of all.Still last as they hit the straight he made up ground smoothly and looked like putting in a real challenge but his effort petered, almost as though the ground and his run to get into the mix found him out,he plugged on to finish seventh.Back on quicker ground and a less demanding tack he can add another win to his tally.

MONTAFF
Ran in the Pitmans Derby today, carried the Nuts money at fancy prices and if he had received anything that closely resembled a decent ride he would have won.Held up last but one all the way round he stormed home but Tominator got first drop on him and he was never going to get it back.Has Group placed form but ive got him as a surefire Cesarewitch type.A big staying pot will come his way this season, particularly when it rides with a bit of cut in the ground.

FIBS AND FLANNEL
Yet again ive watched this horse and yet again he finds trouble in running. He is however down to a dangerously lenient handicap mark and he must surely return to winning ways soon.Stiff 7 or easy mile on decent ground and importantly,a good pace to run at as he doesnt have a blinding turn of foot,he tends to come with one steady run.He has shown form at places like Beverley and Hamilton so watch for him there as these tracks are certainly horses for courses venues.

I backed him tonight
He never looks like he's gonna win at any stage but then you watch the head on and you realise that he should have won.

TINKERTOWN
Ran in the first at Goodwood today(Thursday) over the extended 9f.Given the usual Jamie "7lb penalty" Spencer treatment, dropped out last but one all the way round then switched inside, outside then back inside to get a bit of daylight finally got rolling all too late and finished a never nearer seventh.WILL win before the seasons out, only downside is that JP is the owners retained jockey!

TAZAHUM
Ran in the extended 9 handicap at Goodwood(Friday).Dropped in on the rail but travelled really well, angled out as they entered the home straight he lugged back in all the way up to the winning post but still finished a very close fourth.Back on a more conventional track he will certainly warrant a second glance.
