Constant Rocky references from casual fans. Even worse if it comes from TV experts

Oh, way more to beat Primo boxing a Kangaroo... look at Jack Johnson. He fought a bum rather than fight Langford and Wills.
I have a soft spot for Primo. He died fighting fascism. Wasn't such a bad lad. Awful world champ though.

Don't tell me, the kangaroo was managed by Warren and was defending its WBO title!

Re: Worst case of boxing exploitation?
Pete Rademacher exploited Boxing more than anybody....Fought Patterson in his first pro fight for the title...........
an used the subsequent exposure to help him in his business career.........
Think he decked Patterson as well.........
Freddie Flintoff used the sport too..........to help his exposure knowing he wasn't making a career out of it..

Flintoff did exploit boxing, why I don't know. Got decked and the whole circus could have backfired on him had he been fighting anyone other then that barrel with arms.TRUSSMAN66 wrote:Pete Rademacher exploited Boxing more than anybody....Fought Patterson in his first pro fight for the title...........

"I'm trying to get the big fights, I really am, but none of the top guys want to challenge me for my prestigious WBC diamond emeritus marsupial belt. I think they're scared. So, I'm going to have to fight this possum instead. Oh, and, like all my fights, it's going to have to take place in the Outback, because I'm such a big draw here with my home fans that it doesn't make sense to go anywhere else".milkyboy wrote:Sorry kelvin, it was the WBC diamond emeritus marsupial belt.Kelvinj3 wrote:Don't tell me, the kangaroo was managed by Warren and was defending its WBO title!

Sad thing was his opponent wasn't much worse than what Wilder's been dining on for 20+ fights now!!ONETWOFOREVER wrote:Flintoff did exploit boxing, why I don't know. Re: Worst case of boxing exploitation?
Think Audley was the first British boxer to win a gold medal in the Olympics for quite a while...which in fairness though it was a poor competition is a laudable feat......
Beautifully managed...but not in Flintoff's league of exploitation..

Re: Worst case of boxing exploitation?
How much did Flintoff earn as opposed to Audley given that one of them openly stated he simply wanted to try his hand at the sport and the other has only just admitted that his dream to reach the top of the mountain may have to remain just that?
When you consider Audley's £1 million contract with the BBC and the purse he got for the Haye fight. Flintoff almost deserves a pat on the back.

Re: Worst case of boxing exploitation?
Audley was Britain's first gold medallist for a longtime........
Hence the over-inflated contract.......
Flintoff basically topped a bill on Boxnation and had never fought before..
