Yeah said that before I'd seen the replay. Right decision in the end, thought he'd got the ball at first.

Terry on to lift the trophy.

Want Bayern to equalise just because I love the drama of a shoot-out.

Our club sides are pretty immense in shootouts. Shame our national isn't half as good!

I've just given Chelsea the kiss of death there...

Bayern out to settle a score on pens.

I reckon they will be focused- first miss around the 7th (for both sides)

I hate the run up Luiz does, always looks like he's going to sky it, never seems to. Think he should be Chelsea's penalty taker after Lampard.

No it's not. He didn't stop when he got to the ball. The rule is you can't stutter when you get to the ball, not at the start of the run up.

What an absolutely awful penalty by Lukaku. I thought he was going to smash it over, so tame. Would have gone for Cahill before Lukaku.

I may be wrong but I think they changed it that you can't stop during your run up, so a stutteredmonenahs to be very careful- I think he stopped

heartbreaker for chelsea, can't stand the germans or seeing that muller celebrate. hazard was sensational, cech was immense.....didnt deserve that.

Would not have looked too great for old Pep, if hed lost this one tonight after losing the german super cup vs dortmund. bayern need a new striker, something different.

You can't stop right by the ball but you can do a stupid stop mid-run up. I'd just charge and stick my laces through the ball, after all it's not the time for namby-pamby run-ups.

John Aldridge was famous for the penalty stutter in the late 80's. Caused a real stir back then.

No appearance at all for Mata tonight, might have been different had Ramires not been sent off, but still will fuel speculation in the last few days of the transfer window.

Rather enjoyed that, even if the end result wasn't what I hoped for. Chelsea will take lots of positives from that game, and can point to the fact that they matched one of Europe's best for 2 hours.

4 of Chelsea's back 5 played superbly tonight. Cech was inspired, Cole showed why he's still England's best LB, Cahill had a fantastic game, and Luiz kept Mandzukic quiet for the large part.

Then on the counter, Chelsea were a massive threat. The trio of Hazard, Oscar, and Schurrle broke with pace time and again, and linked up very well with Torres. This was while Lampard and Ramires (did OK till the red)held the midfield together.

Chelsea will win the Champions League this season, I reckon. Everything is there for them.

Also mourinho was much more likeable in other leagues.

Yeah, whatever game Mourinho is playing in his interviews, he hasn't come across anywhere near as likeable.

I think the media is going to turn him on just like in Italy and Spain.

Just very blunt I felt, monotone, might just have been because he'd lost the game, but seen a few interviews this year in that vein.

Mata has also been dropped from the Spanish squad due to lack of club action, in the build up to the World Cup I can see his agent telling him to move on.

Wasn't that bad a challenge, I thought. Yellow yes, but no more.

More concerning was Ribery, who somehow managed to escape being sent off despite persistent fouling.

I like this Mourinho. You need some atmosphere and tension being created by a manager to spice things up and create some drama. Pellegrini & particularly Moyes are so plain and boring it's painful to watch. They bring nothing to the table. Mourinho is like marmite, you either love him or hate him. Did think though he really needed that win last night and a cup to his name, just to reinforce his own ego but also to keep that trophy winning magnetism he seems to hold within the football world. Agree, he's losing his aura slightly but it's only the beginning of the season, from what I saw last night and with Willian coming into the mix, Chelsea could well be lifting multiple trophies come May.
