Au revoir Mark Bennett
ASM Clermont Auvergne were sufficiently impressed with Ayr's 18-yr old centre Mark Bennett after his recent trial period with them to have offered him a full-time contract in their academy. Bennett, widely recognised as a huge Scottish prospect, made his ML debut last month in Glasgow Warriors' last game of the season, their heavy defeat away to Leinster. Despite being just 18, Bennett has been a stand-out in Scotland U20 age-group side this season - good luck to him on the other side of La Manche

A bit disappointing that a talented young player is leaving Scotland but full credit to him, Clermont Auvergne will be a great place for him to learn and develop his rugby further.
look forward to see how he goes out there

dreamer, hopefully even tho he is out of sight, he won't be out of mind - ASM have a Scottish manager who has been asked to keep an eye on his progress and report back to the SRU, plus Jason White should be there to help him settle in.

Ah that's good then As, as long as he's kept on their radar there isn't too much wrong with it I guess. Jason White's a good, experienced Scottish player to help him along too

I'm really worried for the Scottish sides Asbo- you need good homegrown stars to market these teams not to mention on the pitch! Hopefully Bennett will come back one day- and Glasgow can hold onto the rest of their team.

I think this is the right move for him, It's unlikely he would get much game time at Glasgow, look at how poor Alex Blair turned out at Edinburgh.

Notch, It's a fine balance, my friend, the purse strings are tighter than a very tight thing!! Tbh, I think Glasgow will be improved from this season, providing they avoid the major injuries that were a huge setback (Cusiter, Kellock, Beattie, & Morrison), plus not having Barclay, Gray and Kellock available in the last 4 weeks of the ML, despite those same players being absent during the RWC. However, Edinburgh under Bradley make me nervous as hell!!
dreamer, should also have added that Nathan Hines will be with ASM next season too, so further Scottish influence should be on hand
