A ancient and modern Olympics main stay. I get the feeling this was only a warning shot over the bow to get make them get their act together. They had documents issues within the sport and the IOC possibly felt it was time to show them they we not untouchable.

I think it was corrent to expell them and make they re-apply and also the correct decision to allow them to come back into the fold again.

In term of Pro-wrestling I think this is very good news, the olympics being the pinnicle of wrestling means kids will learn to wrestle anf become technically sound. We would not have any new Angle's or Lesnar's in the pipe line if the olympic dream had disapeered. these athletes would find there way into other sports and minimalism the remaining credibitliy pro-wrestling has.

I would find it highly ironic if the v2 wrestling section turned into a discussion board to talk about greco roman!

Or Adam, we could discuss "glamming up" the Amature Circuit. We could get Artur Taymazov to start playing the foreign heel role in Brazil and show of by flaunting his skills in the opening bouts (the jobbers). Or introduce some mike time for the combatants to impose verbal fear or to play to the crowd.

thats most probably a very intellectual post but it completely lost me Laugh

My ironic reference is down to the original BBC section having a wrestling section (for the Olympic discipline) and it was taken over by the pro fans.

And it would then result in fans of 'sports' moaning something chronic that why was wrestling allowed to be discussed on a sports based forum.

Not overly clever, I just looked up the last heavyweight olympic champoin and suggested he impose cocky heel tactics.

Out of interest I know of Angle and Lesnar, and assume Shelton benjamin and Charlie Hass, but who else has a realy strong Am-Wrestling backbround?

Kurt Angle has a new reason to get off the drugs...or whatever it was that caused him to fail that well-being test. Wink

On a serious note, I'm glad it was reinstated, given its historic association with the Games. Who the hell wants to see BMX, handball and water polo at the Olympics?
