Tuesday qualifiers
First topic message reminder :
Macedonia vs Scotland (7:30)
Wales vs Serbia (7:45)
Ukraine vs England (7:45)
Austria vs ROI (7:45)
As a welsh man i'm not holding out for too much against Serbia. We're without joniesta and williams so it means there's even more pressure on Ramsey to pull something out the bag again. Hopefully Coleman's team selection and tactics improve and we're more positive against Serbia. If we'd gone for it we would've won in Macedonia. Fingers crossed bale get's 15 mins at least.
Tough games for England and ROI, I expect England to get a point at least or maybe sneak a win.

Re: Tuesday qualifiers
Bit early for that. He is going down too easy though. Think we just need to keep it tight to half time to frustrate them then push on in the second. Bear in mind they need a win, think the fans will start to get on their back

Nah I want someone with experience. I know it has worked in the past but that should be an exception and not the normspencerclarke wrote:Who would be your call? I know hartson was close last time. No experience but that's worked for you in the past
Fair do the attendance at the Wales game is poor but the brass band that play during our matches are brilliant and have just played a cover of 2 Unlimiteds 'No Limit'

Brass band always the highlight these days for Welsh matches haha.
Bring back dutch ray!! or anyone who isn't welsh. we need coaches who understand modern day methods and with a different approach, not just because they're welsh for goodness sake.

Re: Tuesday qualifiers
I think Wilshere is too keen to run with the ball for me, he almost always ends up running into traffic and losing it, needs to pass more, short little passes and then burst into the box, no point trying to dribble through a wall of players.
Walcott is England's most dangerous player, giving the ball away far too often, should be able to keep the ball for more than a minute.

Too right mate. This 'Welshman at all costs' does my head in. They wont bring back Dutch Ray now sadly as it would be egg on FAWs faceLiam wrote:Brass band always the highlight these days for Welsh matches haha.

Andrew Corft should never be anywhere near this welsh side. Kolarov has just scored a screamer. but tactics are all wrong, team selection is all wrong. Need a fresh start for the next campaign i'm afraid.

Re: Tuesday qualifiers
I would say England marginally edged that half- Ukraine looked less and less of a threat as the game went on- but they had an early 10 mins where they looked a different team

Re: Tuesday qualifiers
The concern is that other than Cahill we look shakey at the back. I do think we will create more chances as the second half goes on though.

Re: Tuesday qualifiers
Coleman has shown in these last two games why he should be sacked as Welsh coach. The tactics are non-existent in defense and attack and the team selection and set up is all wrong. He's playing King and Crofts as the holding midfielders, even though neither are technically good enough to play there. He should have gone:
Ramsey Ledley
Collison
Kanu Bellamy
Vokes

Re: Tuesday qualifiers
England were really poor though. Kyle Walker looked really vulnerable, although as Ukraine seemed to ease off he did alright, but I'm sure the manager will have noted it and they'll go down that left hand side to attack Walker. Not sure what Milner is there for, given the ball away too much, not offered enough on the counter attack and defensively just seems to have confused Cole with a sheer lack of communication, he also had a great crossing opportunity but decided to just play it back into the middle...
Jack Wilshere has been really disappointing, giving the ball away, not passing enough, not sure what's he offering the team at the moment although he's obviously an improvement on Cleverley.

Re: Tuesday qualifiers
After the hurdle of the opening 10 minutes, England have been largely untroubled. Equally, England have been largely ineffective without a good final ball. Wilshere's not having his best game, while Walcott isn't in the game enough. Still fancy England to win this though.
Some other scores:
Italy 0-1 Czech Republic
Belarus 1-0 France

Yes because I was not aware that the username I had personally picked was a nickname of the legendary Jimmy Wilde, so much more than a welshmen he paved the way for all british boxers in america.Champagne_Socialist wrote:hahaJimmy Moz wrote:Yet your username is after a Welshman? Re: Tuesday qualifiers
Embarrassing n painful to watch this is for england. Ukraine are two wingers and that's it, yet we treat them like there Spain. Why are we so defensive? Shocking.
Let me guess, duty claims were playing well n going to win the world cup. Wilshere is so overrated n Lambert being shown up.

One plus for the future then.
Big ask for Ashley young now. On for Wilshire. Been poor most of his time since joining united. Time to step up to the plate

Re: Tuesday qualifiers
England being put under all kinds of pressure by a pretty ordinary Ukraine team.
Once again the team is set out to look for the draw. Walker is shocking..Milner is literally just a number...No creativity on the pitch...Walcott can't pass or control the ball.
It says something that England have had to wait until the final game of qualifying to confirm their place in major tournament finals in 14 of the last 15 qualifying campaigns!
Too many draws against very average opposition, usually as a result of negativity! This has been the case since the Euro team of 1996!

Complete and utter dross. Oxford United would've done better than that rubbish.
Be lucky to scrape qualification this rate.
