Ladies, Gents,
After many years of hopefully informing you of how good I rate my home course, today we finally have a new website up and has some cracking photos of each hole on our wonderful links and a great history section. I hope you will take the time to have a look and hopefully put it on your 'to play' list if down in Cornwall. Feel free to message me if you ever want a game and I will gladly sign you in and take you round.
www.mulliongolfclub.co.uk is the web address. Many thanks.

matelot,
Only been to Cornwall once (despite living in Plymouth for 3 months) and that was after deciding one drunken pre-Easter month to hitch down (Edit: From Norf London) and five of us meet up in Helston, at the Blue Anchor I think.

Spent two nights sleeping under the stars of a building site in Mullion; so hope to be back for a nostalgic visit, clubs in hand!

Yep, Blue Anchor is correct. An absolute classic old pub and one of the very that still brews its own ale!! SPINGO!! It is always worth a visit if down for the golf. They have a society that plays at Mullion every Saturday afternoon, then to the pub in the evening. A great bunch of blokes, young and old, you could not wish to play with anyone other than these boys!!

Always liked Mullion. Not played it for quite a few years though.

Great pictures -- bring back fond memories of our holiday down there in 2010.  That area of Cornwall isn't as crowded/touristy as you might think, even in the summer (unless you're foolish enough to go to the Eden project on a rainy day).  Looking forward to a return trip ! OK

I consider it shameful on my part that I haven't paid a visit yet. Down in Cornwall for the Westlake at Trevose in Oct but our itinerary is already booked.
Of course the great thing you have down there Matelot is that while we can be having frost/snow and the like over winter, that far down in Cornwall can remain relatively mild and spring like so hopefully I'll get an opportunity to get down before the end of the year

Ah, no. It's wetter and windier than most places in the UK.

George, your right, it is often wetter and windier, but that only enhances the challenge. The course changes each day given the vagaries of the wind. Although we have , as probably you have been blessed with great weather this year.
JAS , your point is also very valid. I believe we have only been closed for frost on only 1 or 2 days in the last 4 years and lost only two days to the snow.

Yeah I'll give you wet and windy George but I stick by much milder and my point was that in the winter the Devon and Cornwall links courses are usually a safe bet when we get snow/frost inland. Agreed they can get more extreme flavours of wind but as Matelot says, that enhances the challenge.

It's not uncommon to see palm trees growing in Devon/Cornwall. I've never seen one up north (north of Exeter).

Except for places on the west coast of Scotland, like Plockton.

..and I should have remembered that ! Spent a week on the Isle of Seil many years ago and I believe there were palm trees there too.

Isle of Seil?
Very clever having a name for an isle that's an anagram of it. Looks beautiful though!

It's all down to the Gulf Stream, or the Flug Master as Kwini knows it.

Gulf Stream must be why we get them in the Isle of Man, but quite common. Although I am down south (of the Isle of Man) Quite a few on our course. One past greenkeeper planted a load as 150 markers. More than a few of them are right where (my!!!) drives go too.
