I went to check when Norwich play Palace too. The footballing gods are bound to make that one a Palace win nowsodhat wrote:Mark the 30th November in your calendars because that is when Palace play Norwich.
If they win it will be a great belated birthday present.

You can say what you think. But everything sets you up for a kicking when it comes back to bite you. Like when I laughed when we let Carlton Cole go. Now look at us.

I just realised Olly was up watching the Patriots until 5am, so he's going to be grumpy.

I was up to 12:30am watching Oakland suck completely. Flynn has made so much money for being so average. He was sacked 7 times sure, but even with time all he did was bin it to Jennings for about 2 yards.

Well we did spend some money when we came up, but yeah, the principle is there.Marky wrote:They're being sensible. They won the playoffs but knew they had a very slim chance of staying up. So they're fighting with a weak squad and will make the most of the PL money and parachute payments for a few years. Come back in a few years much stronger for it.Olly wrote:What is the point of Palace this year? Absolute whipping boys, anybody that loses to them needs to look at themselves seriously.
Pretty sure WBA did a similar thing, yo-yo'd from Premier League to Championship a few times before they were financially stable. Azzy will no doubt tell me I'm wrong now
2002-'03 = spent £7.2m, finished 19th. Relegated.
2004-'05 = spent £11m, finished 17th. Stayed up on final day.
2005-'06 = spent £10.5m, finished 19th. Relegated.
2008-'09 = spent £21.5m, finished 20th. Relegated.
2010-'11 = spent £12m, finished 11th.
2011-'12 = spent £10m, finished 10th.
2012-'13 = spent £4m, finished 8th.
2013-'14 = spent £12.5m, finished 1st. Champions.
That doesn't show all the incomings (which I think balance the outgoings and more), but Palace haven't spent the money. They've no chance of staying up. Judging by Albion's history, they have a chance to consolidate a PL place in 2024-25.

Is this guy the worst football fan ever?
I usually like to hear from Viva on United matters because he is a balanced fan. You do wonder whether some of the United fans are spoiled by success and unable to accept that you may not actually win every game...Poor performance all over the pitch, no plus points, hard to see where we will improve and cl qualification looks improbable.
Moyes out, I never wanted him and he's been terrible never mind out of his depth.
With the squad left and the amount of experienced winners in it - is moyes the worst manager in the pl?

These sort of losses happened under Fergie too. I remember them losing at home to Steve Kean's Blackburn for crying out loud

Re: Euro Division LXVI
Moyes hit the nail on the head I thought. To win the CL you need 5/6 world class players, in times gone by United had Van der Sar, Vidic, Rio, Evra, Scholes, Giggs, Rooney. Now it's just RVP + Rooney, as the others are no longer the players they once were.
Tbh, the likes of Evans and Buttner are not good enough for United, nor are Nani, Valencia, Young, Welbeck, Cleverley. Just look at the Dortmund side - even having lost Gotze - and you see just how far behind United are.
It was all down to Sir Alex Ferguson that United continued winning games, long after their players were good enough to do so. Best manager of all-time.

Re: Euro Division LXVI
Thank you Sodhat xxx
Firstly I am in the Moyes camp and I have 100% faith in him. A lot of United fans wanting him out after 6 games is mind blowing, this is a man who was given a 6 year contract the long term future of the club not a quick fix like Mourinho.
I can accept the fact we may not win things for a few years, like Afro said this United side is not as strong and has been reliant not on ability but Sir Alexs winning mentality rubbing of the players. Moyes needs time to mould this United team into his own.
If these so called fans are not happy that United may not be winning trophies for a few years or even longer they should ho and support another team. Now is not the time for negativity.

Re: Euro Division LXVI
A good summary Viva, you should be applauded for your long-term view. Even Sir Alex couldn't win the league EVERY year, and I think even he may have struggled this season in view of Arsenal, Chelsea, City, Liverpool and Spurs all strengthening their sides.
Moyes has never had such good players at his disposal, it will take him some time to get used to such quality. He's only really ever had Baines + Fellaini as top, top players, and he's taken one of them with him. I reckon a summer of signings next year will see Moyes return United to the top 3 next season.
He just has to hope he can finish top 4 this season, imagine United not being in the CL or being able to sign top quality players

Re: Euro Division LXVI
I have to disagree with you about Evans Mr Afro, last season and the 10/11 season he was our best CB. I'd like to see he become our first team CB.
Re: Euro Division LXVI
I can neither take credit for saying the United team isn't as strong (although it isn't), nor for the comment about Evans.
That was Azzy. I think Evans was one of your top performers in defence last season wasn't he?

Oh was that Azzy hahaha. Yeah Evans was the best performer at the back last season.
Re: Euro Division LXVI
He's a marginally better version of John O'Shea. Homegrown, talented, can put in a shift, but will never be world class like Rio and Vidic were. And Stam before them. And Bruce and Pallister before him.

Re: Euro Division LXVI
Lads just an FYI, last week my work changed web filter and we lost a whole ton of websites. Now today I've found even more have been banned - including two other websites that use this same forum design. Therefore it may only be a matter of time before this too is banned at work.
If that happens I'll have to quit as manager - but will try on occasion to log on in the evenings.
Hopefully they see what an important contribution I'm making to the history of the internet here, and leave it alone

Lay a bit low for a couple of days Azzy.
They might be monitoring usage of sites in the immediate aftermath of the filter update so if activity here is negligible it may be spared the axe.
Although my understanding is that sites are mostly banned based on their classification. This surely makes this one harmless.

I guess it depends. I mean was that site as well regulated as this in terms of adverts? Did it have a proper URL or was it one of these www.forumotion.606hl.com kind of things?

I reckon I'd be able to take on the 20 mini pandas, they're slow and stupid. Fighting one big one would be much harder.
Azzy I'm young, maybe when I hit my 40s I'll appreciate women like Dalglishs daughter or more then likely I never will. Then again there's women like Carol Voderman who I find attractive. Dalglishals daughter is too plain and sensible for me.

Are you kidding? It's the plain and sensible ones that are the dirtiest in the bedroom, everyone knows that. Girls that are all shy and retiring are bondage monsters, girls that are outgoing give rubbish head. I know this from experience, as does Afro.

Re: Euro Division LXVI
I can't argue with any of that. There's Viva trying to sound like it's a case of lowering standard, when the reality is, he is showing himself to be a bit inexperienced and niaive with ladies that he doesn't know the ways of the world.
