Shame they didn't have Kurtley Beale kicking that...
I really do feel sorry for the English team, but then it was one stupid indiscretion that cost them in the end. I bet the guy responsible feels terrible though.

Fantastic game, really was. Will have won a lot of League fans that would.
Well done New Zealand.
It was decided by moments really. That incredible reverse pass in the first half that was out of this world, Westwood and Hall both butchering try-scoring chances towards the end, and, most crucially of all, New Zealand keeping their heads and England losing theirs.
Thought England were marginally the better team, but they couldn't take their chances when presented and that has cost them.
What a game though. Rather exhausted just watching it! Hope New Zealand win next week, they deserve it after that!

That's why I love Rugby League, fantastic intense game, that was thrilling all the way through. Both sides will have felt it afterwards.
England played well, possibily should have won it, but indiscipline and soft defence cost them, made the more heartbreaking by the time the winning score happened, and the fact that New Zealand were expected to win, and we came so close.

Well done Kiwis. Thought the roll England got on towards the end was going to be telling and the Kiwis were making mistake after mistake trying to progress the ball.
Shaun Johnson proved the difference in the end with his pinching at the end. Knew he'd nail the conversion. Classy player.

I actually felt a bit sorry for England they didnt deserve to lose but glad NZ won
Am writing to the BBC to complain about the biased commentary though
The comment about 'We even have a Welshman cheering us on here' about Jonathan Davies and then in turn he replies with 'Well you gotta cheer on England against New Zealand'
Erm no Jonathan thats just you being an Uncle Taff sucking up looking to keep your job. Any self-respecting Welshman was cheering on NZ
Thanks to both sides though for a great game and I hope the final is just as good

To be fair I didnt bother to text any of my English mates about the loss that shows how unlucky I felt you were even though they like the rest of England they loved it when Wales lost to France in the RWC semi-final 2 years ago and were quick enough to text then

I was equally disappointed when Wales lost to France in 2011. And when they lost to South Africa.
Today, I was rather surprised with Davies in commentary. He's normally a moaning git in Union, he was rather animated today during the League. Maybe he likes League more?

Evnin Folks:
Wow gotta admit we nicked that, but excellant league.
My son was at Wembley today and next weekend he goes to manchester for the final, watching the Roos against Fiji I think we might have to put on a big brawl to slow them down.
Also Mystir, good to see you down in the League pages.

Not sure how long I will be here- That was a tough game to follow..It was so tense. Its a shame this game isn't bigger, i didn't expect that sort of entertainment.

Re: Rugby League World Cup 2013 Thread
It was a ripper of a game.
England played so well and scored some great tries. It was an amazing, heart-stopping finish. I felt a bit sorry for the England fans... it was a cruel way to exit.
I'm a little worried about Australia's preparations - the US and Fiji games were probably not the best opposition for the qtr/semi finals.
However, I think the Kiwis will be feeling thoroughly knackered after that win against England.
No doubt it will come down to 'who wants it more' - I have a feeling the Roos are still smarting after the last RLWC result even though they keep saying they aren't using that loss to motivate them this time round.

I seem to be the only Kiwi down here on the League pages, and I know its a pretty gutless attitude but i cant see the kiwis staying within 30 pointass of Australia, this kangaroo team hasd attack right through the spine and out wide.
If there is one place we can have a crack at them is in the centre of the park, but not without Frankie Prichard..
sadly Hayn, Inglis, Smith, Cronk, Thurston will win this with their spine.

I know the feeling mate.
But at least you have a few in the rugby pages and there's a couple of Aussies about on there as well.
Not sure about "30 points"... as I said before, I think your team (even now without Pritchard) are an awesome group.
Our blokes are due for another shock defeat... maybe?
I don't think there'll be more than 8-10 points in it either way.

Thats a good question Kenny, and its one that was asked of Andrew Voss on Aucklands radio sport yesterday, he didnt know of anyone in the media who had been involved, or when the voting had taken place, and the point to that was, surely the voting shouldnt occur until after International Rugby Leagues biggest game of the year had been played.

At the 2010 Rugby League International Federation executive meeting the New Zealand Rugby League made an early submission to co-host the 2017 tournament with Australia.
Two bids were received by the RLIF before the November 2012 deadline; the co-host bid from Australia and New Zealand and a bid from South Africa. A decision is expected in January, 2014.

The Roos were totally ruthless.
There were some stunning tries. Concrete wall defence from the Aussies.
I'm still kind of speechless.
