Valencia are so bad tonight it's scary. I didn't even notice Rami being sent off!! For Swansea, Bony M look like a potential 25-goal-a-season combination partnership but there's a long way to go yet. I think Bony can dominate the Europa League but will struggle in the PL this season.

It's a shame what's happened to Valencia, still in so much debt and an unfinished stadium. Having seen Silva, Villa, Soldado, Mata & the rest all leave, it's no wonder their struggling now in the league & in europe. Future doesn't look bright either.

Swansea football club are a credit to British football. Fantastic win against a huge club in Europe, not to only win in there back yard, but to smash them! Up the Swans.
Wigan gettng a 0-0 draw, good result for them.
Tottenham easing to win, Defoe showing he is still so deadly and still very key for Tottenham. How good was Erikson goal btw! He is going to be signing of the season IMO.

Re: Europa League 2013/14 Thread
I think people need to realise that Valencia are not a big club anymore. They only qualify for Europe because of the lesser quality & competition in La Liga. They are in a financial mess, have been forced to sell quality players & the Swansea players are on bigger wages. People need to realise the transition from `huge` club to `average` club, that Valencia have sadly undertaken over recent years. They are not a force anymore at all, currently 16th in La Liga, for me, Swansea winning their was actually likely.
Spurs game was embarrassing. Opposition were like league two standard or worse. Agree, Eriksen`s goal was great but the game was a training exercise.

Why? Because they came 5th last season? They where in the Champions League the 3 previous seasons. I know they have sold Soldado and co recently and not I have the best start but they still have a good squad. I didn't see Swansea winning at the Mestalla as likely and especially 3-0.John wrote:I think people need to realise that Valencia are not a big club anymore. Re: Europa League 2013/14 Thread
They lost more than just Soldado, it`s an average squad. They got fifth but lost Tino Costa, Gago, Cissoko, Albelda & many more. Their not at the level they have been & will only get worse with their financial situation. Problem for them now is, their talent pool has run out, therefore selling for high fees to ease their monetary issues is going to get harder. Shame.
Watched Valencia vs Betis last week, they got completely outplayed. Swansea, with a full squad, with their ball possession & attacking threat, were always going to be challenging for the win. I just think people need to accept Valencia for what they are now & not keep looking back at previous years. Times change.

I know where your coming from but you still have to give Swansea credit for the result. Have you seen the state of Betis' pitch You sink more and more into it with every step!
They should be in there new stadium next season. I still see them coming either 4th, 5th or 6th

Just looking at tottenham's cup form(europe and league cup)
15 goals to none in 4 games..
Yes this is an easy contest at the early stages , but that is kind of beyond easy.
Anyway kick of is early today- 5pm start, they are playing a russian outfit that hasnt won a game in 15 games in there league!!! How is that possible to get into this tourney yet be so bad the following season?

Good showing so far by Spurs by God does Alex McCleish sound drab on commentary.

Re: Europa League 2013/14 Thread
Yeah Tottenham with an impressive win. Defoe looked very sharp. Never ever easy playing in Russia.
Alex McCleish on commentary is just embarrassing. Couldn't sound less interested if he tried. Guess he is bitter, he is still unemployed.

If tottenham didn't get a result here it would have been shock of the season lads.
Anj are a broken team and in the worst form of their history by the looks of their record. 5 losses 6 draws in 11 domestically and sit bottom of there league

Palace will pick up the odd win when some of our players come back from injury-. Until that happens i can only see the odd draw.

Re: Europa League 2013/14 Thread
I was just texting that to my Spurs mate. Defoe could score a hat trick and save 2 penalties and he'd still not start the next game. Still a lively player. Time to move on perhaps? Read earlier this week somewhere Newcastle were interested.

I can't see defoe going unless he puts pressure on wanting to leave!
I mean yes he isn't starting but when he has come on as a sub he has looked very good.(the game v palace he looked a class above everyone else on the pitch)
today he looked sharp as well.
Its very good signs for him that he is still playing well even though he isn't playing much. But as an england fan its gutting to see him not playing enough, i can't think of too many teams he wouldn't start at to be honest(in the prem)

2 stone wall pens. Neither given. One a red card as well. Not given. Instead the ref plays on . Doesn't stop play and Swansea are down to men for ten minutes..
There were also at least another 5 blatant fouls not given . Not sure if this ref has been pulled from rugby union because he doesnt understand the rules of football.
All the same great game. Both teams showing good skills

I know Palace were one of the first sides to sing it, but it isn't there song. None the less, you lot probably do it the best.mystiroakey wrote:What's up with Swansea's fans- Singing the palace TUNE!!

So annoying when random sides like Leicester, Peterbrough, Watford, Bristol City, Bognor Regis, Crawley, and Derby sing it!!!

I really like nathan dyer, good talent , good feet. Routledge is also good(never thought he would get it back tbh!!I had a season ticket the last season he played for palace- that must have been 8 plus years ago!) .

Yeah always rated Dyer, shocked he has never had a call up for England really, when the likes of Andros Townsend and Wilfred Zaha have.
