Manny and Floyd threads

Boxing Alumni,

Two threads have been set up for you all to use regarding everyones favourite two boxers.

To stop the boards becoming clogged up with new articles everyday, please post any updates you may have on these boxers on the relevant thread.

From now on, only major news about these two will be allowed to stand alone.

Any thread that appears that inst deemed worthy will be merged. Any posters who try and post updates in new threads repeatedly, will receive sanctions.

We will allow specific fight threads when bouts are announced featuring these two but all other discussion about them should remain on the respective threads.

Ahh poor little D4 spends three years boring everyone rigid with articles about two subjects and then gets all upset when the moderators actually take some action. Don't see the problem, think this gives people who want to discuss the subject opportunity to contiunue to do so and those of us in the vast majority who are bored rigid by the subject the opportunity to have respite from it. To me seems everyone shoudl be happy, unless of course some people didn't want to actually discuss the subject but rather used it as a means to inflame and subtly spoil the enjoyment of the forum for others, but perish the thought anyone would do that.

Take a look at the articles:

How many for Pacquiao, Mayweather, Froch, Haye, Wlad, Ali, Liston.

Lets not depend Pacquiao or Mayweather articles dominated the board because they clearly don't, and this is at a time when Pacquiao has just had a big fight.

Lies damned lies and statistics, your post does not reflect threads that have been deleted, merged or bumped from the front page due to being locked. I am personally sure the mods have not taken this decision lightly and it is taken under advice from users. As I say can't see a problem am sure when there is something to actually discuss a thread will be made and will stay on the main page as Oxrings one did this week and this method leaves a place for people who still want to discuss the subject when there is little better to discuss than what each fighter had for there lunch.

Win win all round as far as I can see it, however would guess if people don't like it there are plenty other forums out there.

Make you wonder why Haye, Froch, Ali, Wlad and other get a free pass and don't get merged.

Maybe it is because I have not PM the admins every 5 second when a Haye or Wlad post comes up and threaten to resign and type expletives that there is not a separate section for them.

I'm not entirely sure why you are complaining, anyway. It doesn't prevent you from discussing Floyd or Manny, but it does make it easier for those who don't wish to discuss them to avoid doing so.

Wouldn't you rather discuss them without the usual baiting and backbiting ?

Because the crux of the topic will be lost in the general debate and that debate will fall back into the usual.

There can be many facets to the debate clumping them all together the finer points get lost.

If it stops all the dross and repetition, then I'm sure the vast majority will be behind it. If there was no problem the way things were then one has to wonder why so many people certainly seemed to have issues with it. I doubt all those people were displaying some kind of synchronized irrational turn.

Because the crux of the topic will be lost in the general debate and that debate will fall back into the usual.

There can be many facets to the debate clumping them all together the finer points get lost.

Each article will have a separate title, as per usual, so provided everybody is genuinely interested it will be easy to follow. Nobody is going to sift through it to bait and backbite, so the quality of discussion will probably rise, which is better for everybody.

Genuine questions D4, do you honestly think you have debated the subject of Manny and Floyd in a mature, even handed, honest fashion and in a manner respectful to the wishes and enjoyment of other users, and do you think you have always answered questions, when posed in a manner that is a genuine reflection of your views on the subject.

was saying it with regards to them so baffling, yeah but its a forum for fans so if they want to make articles i think it should be allowed, in gyms, amateur or pro the 2 they talk about are MAYWEATHER and PACQUIAO, but ADMIN are busy aint they, not busy as in things to busy looking for things to do, they have loadsa time so they will stop at nothing to dictate imo.

Just give it a chance. Manny & Floyd are popular, sure, but we don't need a steady supply of articles on them. Things started getting a bit ridiculous, especially when some people would 'report' every little non-event in the whole silly saga.

I've seen admin/mod say dont talk about Manny or Mayweather on various articles, look through for evidence, they are two of the biggest names in the history of the sport, there names will come up.
