Out of Contract Players
I know that next season is still a long way off, but I would be interested in collecting together a list of those players that are out of contract this year. Perhaps if fans from each club posted on this thread we could re-edit the original post to make a complete list? Or am I the only one who cares about this sort of thing? I will get the ball rolling...

Re: Out of Contract Players
For Ulster Tuohy, Henry, Court, Best - I expect all those to be formalties for re signing
Afoa and Muller will be gone
Pienaer is the biggy - hopeful of good news in the next week or so
There are some players not regulars as well - would have to dig.

There has been a lot of talk about Yarde - is there anything London Irish can do to keep hold of him, or will he be off to Bath, Leicester, Northampton or Saracens?

With Tigers, I think Hawkins, Stankovitch, Bower, Deacon, Waldrom, Noone, Flood, Thompstone, Goneva, Hamilton, Camacho, Scully, Bowden, Hempedema and Benjamin are all out of contract at the end of the season (Scully sooner as he is on a three month deal). The majority of those will be renewed fairly comfortably. Bowden, Camacho, Hamilton and Waldrom are likely to go though.

Scarlets -: Jon Davies, Priestland, Manu and Scott Williams (I believe). Not too sure about Liam Williams, Turnbull, McCusker and Gareth Davies, I believe they are either his season or next

How can you be sure it will be 'fairly comfortable'? Flood might be subject to a French offer, no? Goneva also a possiblity?formerly known as Sam wrote:With Tigers, I think Hawkins, Stankovitch, Bower, Deacon, Waldrom, Noone, Flood, Thompstone, Goneva, Hamilton, Camacho, Scully, Bowden, Hempedema and Benjamin are all out of contract at the end of the season (Scully sooner as he is on a three month deal). May well depend on where Flood thinks he will be in the England set up come the RWC.Bathite wrote:How can you be sure it will be 'fairly comfortable'? Flood might be subject to a French offer, no? I think Aulika will stay. Yapp will go. Ellis will stay. Palframan will stay. Gough will retire. Treviranus I hope stays but might get a good offer from france. Hala'ufia not sure. Hopefully stay one more year. Danaher will retire. Allinson will go. Geraghty will stay. Fowlie will stay. Yarde will....probably go. Unfortunately. Hopefully not to Bath, Quins or Wasps.

I would think Flood will stay until the RWC and then be off for two or three years of big money in France.lostinwales wrote:May well depend on where Flood thinks he will be in the England set up come the RWC.Bathite wrote:How can you be sure it will be 'fairly comfortable'? Goneva must be on the radar of top French clubs.

Re: Out of Contract Players
Bathite, Flood and Goneva are the why it is only fairly comfortable. Goneva turned down several big French clubs after Cockers and Wheeler flew to Tarbes to convince him to sign first time. He'll be after a pay rise though. Flood is the big uncertainty, I reckon he'll sign a one year deal then go to France post RWC.

Re: Out of Contract Players
The details of all 24 out of contract Glaws players are here:
http://m.thisisgloucestershire.co.uk/story.html?aid=19711597
For some reason my phone won't let me copy and paste the list. Included in that list is the backline; Cowan, Burns, JSD, Twelvetrees, Trinder, Sharples, Cook. That's got to be a worry.

Re: Out of Contract Players
He did indeed, I forgot about that. I guess the article is a touch out of date. Still leaves a lot of potential targets for other clubs. I guess Burns and Trinder will be up next whilst some of the more expensive non key options such as Cowan will be shown the door so they can improve the tight five.

Re: Out of Contract Players
Updated the list for Glos.
Their situation reminds me a bit of the one faced by Irish over the past few seasons - a whole host of top players coming out of contract together. Often you can have a domino effect where if one decides not to renew a lot will follow due to the perceived drop in quality of the squad for the following year. I am sure that happened with Irish in years gone by. Glos are obviously in a stronger position, especially as 12T has already re-signed. I expect there will be a lot of tempting offers for Kalamfoni and Qera to consider though, especially from France. It could also be time for Ryan Mills to move on - he is a really talented player, but he will want to be first choice sooner or later.

Re: Out of Contract Players
Deacon practically bleeds green, red and white. Born in Leicester, brought up in Syston (Leicestershire), learnt rugby at Syston and Tigers academy and has played for Tigers for over a decade. He's one of two vice captains this season as well. He might start to wind down with Slater taking over but I think he'll be a one club man.
Boris is a solid set piece loosehead, he could help sort out that Quins scrum and would be a good bench option for them.

Scott Williams was out f contract last season, We regions all three centres in Adam warren, Gareth Maule sand Scott. So he is off that list
Out of that list the only players I would want is Vernike Goneva, Gonzalo Camacho, Dave Ewers, Thomas Waldrom. All other postions im sure we are secure for

Re: Out of Contract Players
Hipkiss and Vesty were younger and found themselves as surplus to requirements so moved on for more regular rugby. Deacon is still getting regular rugby at 32 and is vice captain. Still stranger things have happened when money is involved. It would certainly be a blow to Tigers to lose someone of his leadership, experience and set piece capabilities even with Slater coming through.
Deacon's brother has been taking some coaching courses and working with the academy whilst rehabbing so perhaps Tigers will phase Deacon into that as he starts to play less. Judging by his form so far he won't be playing that much less this season.
Considering how the media have taken to raving about the more athletic locks it's good to see the likes of Gough and Deacon, the old school enforcers, are still high on fans wishlists.

Rob Cook has renewed with Glaws for two more years.
Quins desperately need a big unit on the second row. A real lump to give their scrum some ballast and give their lineout drive an engine.
