TNA Impact Results - 10th October
Dixie Carter comes out and says Hulk Hogan is gone and never coming back, and she won't even refer to him by name ever again. She says she provided him an opportunity and he tried to tell her how to run her company, but she doesn't need any of them. Dixie says she certainly doesn't need AJ Styles either, and she made him leave last week but he snuck back in and attacked someone at ringside. She asks AJ what he's thinking, but she wants him to know she will allow AJ in the building tonight, and she has something special planned tonight. Dixie says she is giving Bully Ray the choice to book AJ in any match he wants, then Sting comes out and wants to know what is going on with her.
Dixie says Bound For Glory is supposed to be her 'wake up call,' but she is awake, and everyone is under review, including Sting himself. Dixie says Sting is the one who influenced her to hire Hulk as GM, then she asks why he took things into his own hands and booked a match with Magnus. She says she will do something about it if she has to, and they might fight in two weeks, but Sting and Magnus and going to team against Bad Influence tonight. Dixie tells Sting she is going to hype things up a bit more, and she says if either Sting or Magnus loses tonight, neither one of them will be at Bound For Glory. Dixie says his future is in her hand, and that's what is going on, then she says she wants him to win and wishes him luck.
AJ Styles is shown arriving to the building and he says it's nice to be here without security chasing him, and he says he isn't concerned with Bully Ray tonight. He says everyone knows he won't back down from a fight, and Dixie knows he'll make her pay, and she knows he'll win the title at Bound For Glory. AJ says Dixie is using her power and leverage to keep him from the title, but after Bound For Glory, he will have it all.
Austin Aries vs Jeff Hardy
Hardy hiptosses Aries and hits a legdrop, then Aries gets him with a waistlock takedown and elbows him before taunting him in the corner. They stand off and Hardy rams his shoulder into Aries, then he whips him but Aries elbows him and connects with a few armdrags and follows with a side headlock. Aries elbows Hardy in the back and clotheslines him in the corner, then he bulldogs him for a near fall before hitting a jumping elbow for two. Aries applies a side headlock but Hardy counters with a jawbreaker, then he whips him in the corner and takes Aries outside with a headscissors. Hardy kicks him into the broadcast table and splashes him on the floor, then we get back from a break to see Hardy dropkick Aries' neck.
Hardy whips him and tries to splash him, but Aries dives away and connects with a kneedrop before following with a second for a near fall. Aries punches him in the corner but Hardy fights back, then he hits the ropes but Aries sidesteps him and throws him outside and into the broadcast table. Aries heads up top and hits a double sledge on the floor, then he goes back up and hits a second double sledge before he throws Hardy in the ring. He climbs the turnbuckles again and goes for a missile dropkick, but Hardy ducks and kicks him before connecting with a flying forearm. Hardy hits an atomic drop and a split leg drop, then he hits Aries and whips him, only to have Aries backdrop him out to the apron.
Aries hits a hangman's neckbreaker and a top rope missile dropkick, then he charges the corner but Hardy dropkicks him and takes him down with a reverse powerbomb. Hardy calls for a Twist of Fate but Aries shoves him in the corner, but Hardy runs up the turnbuckles and hits Whisper in the Wind. Hardy heads up top but Aries dropkicks the ropes, and he crotches Hardy on the ropes before hitting a super Brainbuster for the win. Samoa Joe comes out and says that was impressive, but he's out there because they both impressed him last week by making an Ultimate X match. He says he wants to try something since the microphone gives them power, and he names himself as the fifth entrant into the match and Joe is going to kill them all.
Winner - Austin Aries
Jessie Godderz (w/ Robbie E) vs ODB (w/ Eric Young)
Jessie taunts ODB and flexes, but ODB punches him a few times in the corner and hits Robbie before shoving Eric face in her cleavage. Jessie goes for a clothesline but ODB gets a rollup for two, then Eric and Robbie fight to the back before ODB raises her flask. Lei'D Tapa cuts things off and heads to the ring, then she spears ODB and slams her head on the mat. The ref calls for the bell as Tapa kicks her in the face, then she picks her up and hits a fireman's carry cutter before leaving.
Result - No Contest
Bully Ray is talking about recent events with the remaining Aces and Eights, Knux and Garret Bischoff, and he says they need to stick together. Knux mentions what he did to Ken Anderson, and Bully says it might have been a little extreme, but he wants to lead them and he wants revenge on AJ Styles. He says he wants them to take out AJ, and he wants them to be the reason AJ misses Bound For Glory, as well as them being the reason that the title stays in their club. We cut to Magnus and Sting talking about their match tonight, and Magnus says he is taking Bound For Glory very seriously. Sting says he knows it's big because he's won the world title there three times, and he can't fight for it anymore, but he'll still prove it's showtime.
Bad Influence comes out for the EGO Hall of Fame induction (complete in Dumb and Dumber themed tuxedos) and Daniels says it's time for a celebration. Bobby Roode comes out and Daniels says he made him a video, then they air a highlight reel of Roode's career (with some 'favorable' commentary) and Kaz and Daniels clap for him. They call Roode an inspiration and a true Hall of Famer, not like Sting, who will get a huge beating tonight. Daniels says Roode is the longest reigning champion ever, and Roode thanks them for the kind words and says he is fighting back tears. Roode says there would be no Hall of Fame without either of them, but he wants to thank one more person, and that's... himself.
Roode says he deserves the Hall of Fame induction, not Kurt Angle, because Kurt hasn't done anything lately and all he does is make history. He says Kurt is nowhere to be seen, but Kurt's music cuts him off and Roode flips out as Kurt makes his way to the stage and takes off his jacket. Kurt makes his way to the ring and tells them to shut up, and he's been gone awhile but wants to know if Kaz and Daniels are Roode's girlfriends. Daniels tries to sucker punch him but Kurt sends him and Kaz outside, then he tries to get Roode in an ankle lock before chasing him away and making a challenge for Bound For Glory.
#1 Contender's Match (Knockouts Championship)
Brooke Tessmacher vs Velvet Sky (w/ Chris Sabin)
Velvet throws Brooke in the corner and hits her a few times, then she whips her and goes for a splash but Brooke avoids it and slaps her in the face. She tears at the bandages around Velvet's ribs, then she chokes her on the ropes and taunts the crowd before Velvet makes a comeback. Velvet hits a clothesline and a kick to the face, then she connects with a bulldog for a near fall before kicking Brooke and hitting a neckbreaker. Sabin calls Velvet over to run strategy with her, but Brooke gets behind her and rolls her up, hooking the tights for the win.
Winner - Brooke Tessmacher
Sting & Magnus vs Bad Influence
Magnus suplexes Daniels and punches him, then Sting tags in and stomps Daniels' hand before kicking him and sending him into the corner. Daniels hits him back a few times and tags Kaz, but Sting hiptosses him and tags Magnus, who Kaz shoves towards Sting and they prevent a collision. Magnus turns and apologizes but Kaz hits him from behind and knocks him outside as we go to a commercial break. We get back to see Daniels kick Magnus onto the mat before taunting Sting, then he applies a side headlock but Magnus elbows his way out and hits the ropes. Daniels punches him in the stomach and tags Kaz, who hits a legdrop, then they take turns stomping Magnus before Daniels slams him into the corner.
Daniels throws Magnus outside and distracts the ref, then Kaz hits him a few times and rolls him in, with Daniels going for a near fall but getting caught using the ropes. Magnus fights out of a headlock with some right hands, then Daniels stuns him with a jawbreaker but Magnus fires back with a clothesline. Both men tag out and Sting unloads on Kaz with chops and kicks, then he bulldogs him for a near fall but Daniels breaks it up. Sting throws Daniels outside and Magnus hits Kaz with a top rope elbow, then he puts him in a Cloverleaf but Daniels hits him from behind. Sting tags himself in and hits a Stinger Splash in the corner, then he follows with a Scorpion Death Drop and makes the cover. Daniels can't make it back to break it up, and Sting celebrates but Magnus looks annoyed at Sting's tag, eventhough they won the match.
Winners - Sting & Magnus
Dixie Carter catches up with AJ Styles backstage and says he doesn't have to have a handicap match tonight, in fact he doesn't have to be at Bound For Glory either. She says she wants him to look at the check she is holding and think about it, and think of all the stuff he could buy with it. Dixie says it's a lot of money, and it goes a lot further in a redneck town like where he is from, so he should shake hands and just leave. AJ says this is a lot of money and it can buy plenty, then he tears the check up and says it can't buy him, then he throws it at her and walks away.
AJ Styles vs Garret Bischoff & Knux
AJ rushes the ring and attacks Garret, then he connects with a kneedrop and several stomps before Garret gets a punch in. AJ hits him back and whips him, then goes for a backdrop as Knux blindtags in and drops him with a side slam for two. Knux punches him and goes for a legdrop, but AJ avoids it and fires off on both men, attacking each in the corner before leapfrogging Garret to clothesline Knux behind him. Knux staggers but stays on his feet, then he swings at AJ but hits Garret when AJ ducks, then AJ Pele kicks Knux and rolls up Garret for the win. Bully Ray (at commentary) jumps in and attacks AJ, then he tells Garret and Knux to stay back and watch as he whips AJ with his chain. He hits him a few times before AJ tries to get up, then he runs at Bully but Bully backdrops him onto the ramp and taunts him as the show ends.
Winner - AJ Styles
Dixie says Bound For Glory is supposed to be her 'wake up call,' but she is awake, and everyone is under review, including Sting himself. Dixie says Sting is the one who influenced her to hire Hulk as GM, then she asks why he took things into his own hands and booked a match with Magnus. It was a very good show.
Aries vs Hardy was great.
And I do suggest everyone watch the EGO Hall of Fame induction to set up Roode and Angle match. Awesome segment.

Re: TNA Impact Results - 10th October
just finished watching it myself - the Ego segment was brilliant as always. I love the way they dubbed over "Bobby Roode" over Kurt Angle!!
The supplex that angle delivered on Kaz looked slightly botched - Kaz looked in pain.
The finish to the Aries match was something else too - Aries can be world champ again with preformances like that. His promo was good (loved the reference to inner monologue).
All in all, a very good show although heel Dixie is lousy!

Re: TNA Impact Results - 10th October
This week was mostly a "Meh" kind of show for me. Okay but nothing really stood out.
Most entertaining part was the EGO Hall of Fame segment and Angle's return.
That said I did miss the first 10 minutes (though I'm happy I missed Dixie Carter). I also had no clue as to why Hardy and Aries were fighting.
The Sting / Magnus vs Knux / Bischoff tag match was okay, but the most interesting part for me was the end where Magnus got upset at Sting for tagging himself in and getting the win. An angle to build up some resentment for The Icon before BFG?
Also agree that "heel" Dixie is just cringeworthy (still hot but I just wish she didn't say anything )
Was also surprised at Samoa Joe announcing his involvement in the Ultimate X match at BFG...looks like things could get very crowded on the scaffolding.

Ah, so I wasn't imagining that then? Bit of ring rust on Kurt's part maybe (though suplexes are supposed to be his speciality)?Adam D wrote:

Crimson??? Shame on you! It should be none other than Matt Morgan (has he returned Hogan's gold robe yet?).
Make Joey Ryan the General Manager and build Robbie E (or Jesse Godderz) as the next world heavyweight champion and have Bro Mans as tag team champs while you're at it.
Watch the ratings soar!
