All Black's Insult to Wallabies
First topic message reminder :
Despite the media suggestion otherwise, the selectorial evidence provides ample proof that the All Blacks no longer rate Australia as a threat. Assuming that is, the AB team sheet doesn't contain any clerical errors this time.
In yet another final tedious dead rubber marking the end of the once prestigious Bledisloe Cup for another tiresome year, and with the trophy yet again locked safely away (does anyone remember where the key is?) the AB's will use Australia as an end of year tour selection trial rather than a test match.
Retiring Andrew Hore is rested whilst the front row of the increasingly decrepid Kevin Mealamu and work in progress Faumauina will suffice to take on the task of holding up the Aussie front row's 80 minute belly flop act. It seems nothing could be learned of Dane Coles performance in such a match.
In the second row, All Black stop gap Jeremy Thrush will be given another outing in the continued absence of injured Luke Romano. The selectors will want to see if he can muster the goods one last time before he is yanked for Retallick if the going gets tough.
There's no room for explosive blind side revelation Steven Luatua in perhaps the single greatest sign that explosive revelations are not seen as necessary against the workman like but increasingly wayward and ponderous Australian inside backs. Richie will chalk up another test to continue his captaincy tutorship of Keiran Read, with Liam Messam's showing against South Africa earning him a likely 80 minutes.
But the pack is merely a distraction, an assumedly solid and reliable platform to provide the experimental backline with enough wall to get acquainted.
The latest AB superstar Ben Smith will take up his destiny at center outside Nonu, Smith and Cruden where he will settle into the combinations that will undoubtably win the AB's the first back to back RWC victory in history. Corey Jane is given a chance to stretch his legs on his familiar right wing and rebuild his legendary partnership with Israel Dagg. Look for big things from the both of them. Together they make a partnership worth three back line players in any other team today, with Julian Savea providing the injection of straight forward direction.
Yes. Far from the insistence the ABs are taking this test match seriously it seems that it is being used as a selection trial for the EOYT rather than a test match against a feared rival. With TKB, Barrett and Taylor on the bench, the ABs are fielding probably the most cerebral and skillful backline since the Wallaby's 1999 world cup winning side.
On the other side of the ditch, the Wallabies are being motivated with a pay cut and the crippling lack of depth that will see them field the last 15 rugby players standing this weekend has been aided by new ARU CEO Bill Pulver ditching both national academies.

Only just read this, but where's that snow meant to be coming in? I cycle about 10 miles to work each day and am hoping for a snowless winter...mystiroakey wrote:I am not really an expert on winter bike tyres.. However isn't it supposed be snowing next month, you need that answer soon dude!

I wouldn't panic just yet mate. These are the same people who predicted a bbq summer weeks before the wettest summer in 150 years and predicted an average mild winter just before the heaviest snowfall since 1964.yappysnap wrote:Only just read this, but where's that snow meant to be coming in? Lets hope the snow stays away, for rugby's sake.
Just out of interest anyone have any idea what the snow is like in the Lothians, it's my first winter here, and I am driving a rear wheel Estate BMW. Is it managable or should I upgrade now?

I have a BMW 5 series and believe me, unless you change to winter tyres you can throw the keys away when the snow comes. Rear wheel drive= useless in snow

They said it was going to be the coldest summer across Europe. These long range forecasts are pure fantasy. They can predict the next few days but they're just arsing it with these seasonal predictions. Probably will be the warmest on record.

Hmm, kinda I recon. Recent shoite summers seem to have lowered our expectations. Looking back, this last summer didn't really start until the first week of July. In the past we could have expected good weather in May and June. I don't think this summer was that special tbh.GloriousEmpire wrote:One of the warmest British summers I can recall. Re: All Black's Insult to Wallabies
I
It will be winter. In London there will be a few flurries of snow. Not enough to be an actual problem, but enough for all public transport to inexplicably break down. The various borough councils will be caught short on grit and salt due to the apparently unexpected nature of cold weather in winter. Just when it's almost April and we expect the weather to start improving there will be a week of decent snow fall during which everything will stop, the bbc will go crazy ape bonkers and act like the arctic has arrived in Westminster and declare a proxy national emergency with rolling 24 hour news coverage with reporters standing in three inches of snow acting like Scott of the arctic. All major energy firms will increase fuel prices by 10% and offer a fixed rate for three years before dropping prices 10% in May to drag in new customers.
Happens every. Single. Year.

Well I agree public transport in NZ is never troubled because there is no public transport to be troubled. Major roads crumble all the time because no one knows how to build proper roads in NZ. Lots of roads are not even tarred. Roads closed for months because they have either being washed or slipped away.
The worst road / transport network outside the 3rd world.

What incase it snows during them?ebop wrote:So ah, how we feeling up north about the AIs, nervous?
I think we should be ok over here in England, London will be snow free in Nov unless something bonkers is happening.
Over in Ireland, well who knows what those Irish get up to. Likewise France. Could be snow, could be sunny, you never can tell which French weather will turn up.
Scotland, expect snow, sleet, rain, haggis, fog, ice and flooding.

Re: All Black's Insult to Wallabies
The NH posters here have lost the plot complete Ebop, they've been so terrified by the performance of The All Blacks, Springboks and Australia in the last couple of weeks that anxiety is no longer sufficient to describe their mood. Firmly in Denial now and trying to distract themselves as you can clearly see in this thread.
Ps. Anyone see Italy beat England at rugby league yesterday? Amazing upset. Eng are rated third in League too...so it just goes to show there's a gap from
1&2 down to three there as well!

If only they would integrate with the local birds a bit more it might help..
But i cant bang on about that to much as I will sound xenophobic..
I do think it would help if they did not segregate themselves so much, but its a free country!

Some of these parakeets are beautiful ay, but when they open their mouth, you just wish they'd just shut up and sit their looking pretty. Ever heard a cockatoo squawk, such a shame, such an elegant bird.
