Who leaked the Hodgson comment?

Now the actual comment itself, no harm whatsoever in my mind. Blown completely out of proportion by the media.

But apparantly there was a player who leaked this, which leads to the question of who?

Now the player who leaked joke to press must be a) already comfortable/cosy with journos and b) have reasons for grudge w/ Hodgson.

Story came out in The Sun, one would assume the player would have connections with them. He might have a history of doing it. I can;t see one of the younger players risking themselves either.

I think the signs point to Super Frank personally. Wouldn't be the first time he's kicked up a fuss after being benched *cough* AVB *cough*

It's akin to making a statement that someone must be gay because they were seen in a pink shirt. That's how ridiculous this whole thing is.

I think people use racism as a way to just get attention eg newspapers can sell more copies if they print stories of racism even if no racist incident happened and certain groups gain more publicity by arguing that a famous person said something racist.

The newspapers and the groups dont care about racism they just care about making money.

I really don't get you, this thread was creating some great discussion and everyone was being pleasant talking about a sensitive issue and you come along and start calling people racists and fascists and start telling people to shut up.

This whole ridiculous story is boring. Basically we all know what's going to happen. Fly to Brazil, day before the first group game, journalist reveals the 'leak' or a rival paper finds out & it all gets published. It's typical media, typical England 'blow up in our faces' moment just before the action really starts, that will probably derail the team & end up sending us home early.

As for the charge that he's ruined the thread, I think you've played your own party in that too. Yes, Azania made a cheap remark about Duty. However, why did you need to jump in? If Duty was offended, I'm sure he's more than capable of replying, or of letting the mods know.

The main problem this forum suffers from is members carrying vendettas from thread to thread. I would include Azania, you and Duty in their number. That not only sees threads descend as this one has, but also stifles debate.

I have no "vendetta" against Azania. I never say anything to provoke him; it's just him.

Can we move on and discuss the topic rather than each other?

And back on topic, I see Andros Townsend has called it "negative, silly news" which is surely more than enough to consider this matter closed. Of course, I doubt the media will drop this story and I doubt it'll be the last we hear of it. As John says, it'll be mentioned just before the world cup.

Whether it is mentioned or not before the World Cup is pretty irrelevant, it won't make a difference to England.

I think it's fair to say that just because the panel are all white and all male doesn't mean they'll stop coloured people play for England for Christ's sake! There's more non whites in the England team.

I read that Welbeck told Rio ferdinand and then Rio told the papers to get some revenge on Roy due to Roy dropping him in favour of Terry for the Euros.

I beleve that there should be more ethnic minorities and females and disabled people in positions of power or with higher roles within businesses but I don't think discriminating against white people or men or able-bodied people is the way to do it. I spoke about this whole commission on the latest football podcast! Yet again it's something set up which will serve no purpose what so ever! How many times does a country require a commission to decide upon and come up with solutions to the countries international wilderness!

Hoddle was appointed to appease the media and fans and detract attention from the fact the rest of the commission was made up of people vastly out of touch with both international and modern football!

1 day after someone speaking out about a lack of black people on the panel we strangely get Rio joining the panel. I am actually just as frustrated with him as I am with the FA given he will no doubt just become another yes man of the FA, earning his crust and happily nodding his head like the dog from churchill!

Our whole set up is so vastly behind times its not only scary but embarrassing to boot!

Black, White, Female, Transexual I couldn't care less just set up a panel which will actually spend all the time which this one will and end up with some kind of resolution, which this one wont! I am sick to the back teeth of money being spent on commissions that do sod all!

I am sick to the back teeth of a group of yes men and suits who have no idea what to do and purely join because they can gain some chump change...if truth be told the best thing to do for the sake of our countries national team is to give control of it to the Premier League...given ultimately they decide the fate of the team.

On the subject of the commission, like you say Owen, it will serve absolutely no purpose whatsoever as it quite simply will not achieve anything meaningful...or anything at all. Waste of money. Waste of time.

Have to say coming when it did Rio's appointment does smack ever so slightly of tokenism. However can't eally say he is a worse appointment than many of the others on the panel. O'Grady is clearly a fine coach but is 72 and has zero experience of coaching or managing at the very highest level. As for Howard Wilkinson, he has been involved in the FA set up for god only knows how long now, one would have to think over those years he has had enough platforms to put forward his ideas and did he have some magic formula for us succeeding he may have suggested it already.

As Ozzy has said I really could not care the colour gender or anything else of the panel, only their competency should be a concern and I struggle to see how the names involved will acheive anything or cause any great leap forwards

Seems a bit odd to set up a commission with the remit of improving England's fortunes and then fill it with people who have routinely failed to manage that in the past.

Let's face it. With Rio included not only have they fulfilled the black quota they've also shown equality to retards.
