Just playing about with the idea of an offer...
Flood + Hines (+ Denton on loan for WC) + Fritz + Tuilagi + Crane
for
Sexton + Day + JTH + Masaga + David?
Any interest there?

Re: Sale Sharks
I like JTH, but you've got to remember he plays next to Nick Evans who is the second best no10 in world rugby - his experience makes the whole Quins backline look a lot better than they are.
JTH is a good club player, will go down as one of Quins fans favourite players, but his game is ever so limited, he wont ever play for England as he is too small to be the 'bash them' centre he is e.g. he'd get floored by Nonu, de Villiers etc. His handling is poor, passing poor and if you stop him running through you then you stop him being an effective player.
Evans puts him on the good lines - watch JTH play without Evans and his game drops right back down.

Re: Sale Sharks
I don't do the slating of players anymore and in answering your points it would mean that I would just pick weaknesses in your team and I've been criticised for doing that before, so am not doing that anymore.
I'm allowed to have my opinion about JTH - this season he has played against poor opposition, he plays next to Nick Evans and I would look good playing outside Nick Evans. He has a limited game and will go down as a very good player for Quins but he will never be a regular England international for the reasons I outlined in my above post.
Will Greenwood said pretty much the same thing and he is Quins through and through. He's a good club player no more - take away Nick Evans and Im afraid the Quins backline unfolds in terms of quality.

Re: Sale Sharks
You are completely missing my point - Nick Evans is world class, he is the best ten in world rugby after Dan Carter, he is the reason why JTH is developing, he puts him into space, he orchestrates absolutely everything. If you put Andy Goode outside Nick Evans you'd be saying he was amazing, if you put Steve Thompson outside him then he'd be a good centre too!
JTH is not big enough to be a bash them up the middle centre at the highest level and he hasnt got the handling skills to get round that fact at the highest level. He can have really good games and look very good, but then so is Chris Bell at Wasps right now.
Nick Evans makes the Quins backline look very good, for me you still have Flutey, Barkley, Allen ahead of him in the England pecking order and a batch of new young centres who will edge in front of him too - then consider that England prefer Hape and Banahana in front of him at 12 and Tindall then you see that he's 7th choice in an area that is actually very weak.
Look at how different he plays when he plays next to Clegg, its unbelievable.

Re: Sale Sharks
Never rated Cruden at all. He's ok, but if he was that good he'd be in the All Blacks squad now, as behind Carter they dont really have any standouts.
Evans is still world class, look at how he pulls the strings at Quins match after match - the reason Quins win games is because they have a very aggressive backrow and a world class 10. There isnt another 10 that comes close to Evans in the AP - give him the ball and he wins games.

Re: Sale Sharks
Apologies for having an opinion that differs to you. I don't rate JTH for the reasons that I put forward, and I'm not the biggest fan of Cruden, I think that there are better players than him and that he will struggle in the winter months here, like a lot of southern hem players do - take McAlister for example when he played for Sale.
Would have quite a few 10s ahead of Cruden.

Re: Sale Sharks
Hi Johnny
With regards to my back row not having the right balance this week could you elaborate on that? Danahar is an out and out 6 , Fearns and Skirving have been playing 8 and 7 for Bath of late.
I picked them with regards to my tactics of them being mobile forwards who could play at a high tempo.
