Re: Ibrahimovic
Yes. But at the same time he doesn't scare me. The fact he's won the league pretty much every season of his career is an awesome stat too. Pub quiz question in 10-15 years.

Re: Ibrahimovic
I hate it when commentators say that he is overrated because he never proves himself against English teams. His destruction of England last year ended that debate.

Re: Ibrahimovic
How much do you think Ibra would be worth if he was sold to an EPL club? A team like Arsenal would love a player like Ibrahimovic.

Re: Ibrahimovic
It was a friendly game not too sure how much stock you can place in that game, in competitive games he's not really shone against the english teams or england. I'm not even sure he's done too much against the best teams in europe, he tends to shine against the lesser quality sides. He shows glimpses of brilliance but I wouldn't place him alongside Falcao, Suarez or Van Persie though.

Re: Ibrahimovic
in 550 appearances he has 284 goals and 107 assists
94 appearances for sweden he has 46 goals
success in the dutch league the italian league the french league and he was even successful in the spanish league where he scored 22 goals in 46 appearances.

Re: Ibrahimovic
I judge it more on how he performs instead of just statistics like you Chris.

A friendly, a game that didn't matter.Champagne_Socialist wrote:I hate it when commentators say that he is overrated because he never proves himself against English teams. His destruction of England last year ended that debate.
Didn't see him too much during the game that did matter against England at Euro 2012.
4 goals tonight though, cracking achievement. Can he do it when the pressure's really on though?

Re: Ibrahimovic
So you are going to ignore his goal scoring record and his assist record and instead judge his performances on how he performs? ho do you judge a striker's performance if you are not looking at goals and assists? how many step overs he does?Hammersmith harrier wrote:I judge it more on how he performs instead of just statistics like you Chris.

That's precisely what I'm doing, you can't judge a players worth by a piece of paper.Champagne_Socialist wrote:So you are going to ignore his goal scoring record and his assist record and instead judge his performances on how he performs? ho do you judge a striker's performance if you are not looking at goals and assists? how many step overs he does?Hammersmith harrier wrote:I judge it more on how he performs instead of just statistics like you Chris.

He's certainly got all the talent in the world, just hope he doesn't waste it.

Re: Ibrahimovic
I think he has won the league in something like 10 out of the last 11 seasons either in Italy, Spain or France.CFCNick wrote:Yes. But at the same time he doesn't scare me. The fact he's won the league pretty much every season of his career is an awesome stat too. Pub quiz question in 10-15 years.

01-02 & 03-04 at Ajax. Then 04-05 & 05-06 at Juve were taken back (05-06 given to Inter), 06-07, 07-08 & 08-09 with Inter, 09-10 Barca, 10-11 with Milan, 12-13 with PSG.
Without counting the Juve Calciopoli titles it's 8 in 12 years or taken out the years as well as the titles 8 in 10.

Re: Ibrahimovic
Last night's four goals were something special. The first was a well-timed run for a tap in, the second a beautiful flick between his legs (very skilful move), the 93mph thunderbolt for the hat-trick, then a superb finish on the fourth. One of the best hat-tricks I've seen for a long time there.

Re: Ibrahimovic
No doubt that on his good days he is fantastic (last night and the friendly against England). The only criticism that puts him short of the level of Messi and Ronaldo is that he doesn't perform at this level consistently enough - has too many games where he is shut out and gets into a grump.

Re: Ibrahimovic
Zlatan`s third.....wow! Love how he's stepped up his game this season, Cavani who????
Agree, he don't perform like this every game but he's an incredible player.

Re: Ibrahimovic
In terms of talent I think he's the best player in the world, he wow's me more than Ronaldo for sure, who is more of a superb athlete but the selection of goal's Ibra can score is better than any other player.

Re: Ibrahimovic
Since Dennis Bergkamp anyway...
If Zlatan had the work ethic of Ryan Giggs, he'd have been the best player in world history.
