Who Will Be TNA's Hall of Fame Inductee for 2014?
dyrewolfe wrote:Come to think of it, there aren't that many oldies in TNA's ranks. Maybe they should just leave the next induction until a few years down the line.
This quote from dyrewolfe in Adam's 'A ray of sunshine at TNA Towers' article got me thinking about TNA's next inductee into their prestigious Hall of Fame - current population: one.
Obviously, Kurt Angle will eventually accept his induction and join Sting in the HOF but who will be the third person to go in?
Is there anyone currently on the roster deserving of the HOF treatment? If Hulk Hogan re-signs with the company has he done enough in TNA to warrant inclusion? Or will they perhaps look back on the various legends who have at one time or another made an appearance for TNA who aren't in the WWE Hall of Fame, for example Randy Savage, Vader or Ken Shamrock?

Both of the current members (counting Kurt Angle) are still active. They don't have to follow WWE's lead and induct people who are retired. AJ Styles has done more for TNA than anyone, except maybe Jeff Jarrett and either of those would be my pick for next year.

What's the deal with Angle? Why did he refuse it? Was it down to his personal life?

Being that there's a fair chance TNA will cease to be in the next twelve months a Hall of Fame that currently consists of one person who's best work was 20 years ago in another federation and their only other inductee didn't want in pretty much sums up TNA.

He didn't feel he was worthy of such a prestigious accolade due to his recent indiscretions.Kay Fabe wrote:Why did he reject it? Has there been any gossip in the dirts

Knowing TNA they would have tried to add that to his World Title reigns being as they used to count his Olympic Gold Medal as one.

Genius, there's no way he could just knock it back so gp out and get into a bit of trouble then use that to say he doesn't deserve it before taking the WWE one in AprilHero wrote:He didn't feel he was worthy of such a prestigious accolade due to his recent indiscretions.Kay Fabe wrote:Why did he reject it? I've heard reports in the past that WWE have had a few chances to sign Angle but consider him too dangerous a property to touch due to his transgressions
I'm wondering if we will ever see him return to the 'E

I can definitely see their logic, I'd imagine if it happened though it'd br a short term thing to become a nominee for the Hall of Fame which leads to a storyline into a match at WrestleMania then take it from thwre

He should take Kurt's spot in the Hall of Fame for himself which could reignite their feudRaptor wrote:Desmond Wolfe?
As for Angle, was his refusing the Hall of Fame legit or is it an angle? (Pardon the pun!) I haven't heard any reports from the HOF induction ceremony so I don't know if he said the same thing there.

I'm sure when Kurt gets the call from WWE, he'll forget all about TNA's laughable HOF

As Hero pointed out, given there's a chance TNA may not even be in existence much longer, this whole HOF business may be beside the point.
That said, I've always thought HOF nominations were sort of like Lifetime Achievement awards at the Oscars and BAFTAs...that is, for people nearing the end of their careers. I know they don't have to follow WWE's lead, but don't you think it would seem odd, to have HOF'ers in their 30s, wrestling every week for the next several years?
TNA currently only have Sting, Angle and Jeff Jarrett (where's he been the last few years anyway?) who are around that age where they're going to be considering their future outside the ring. The rest of the roster, as far as I know, still have quite a few years left at the top of their profession.

Jarrets in Mexico still I think, one of tnas talent trading agreements that they never seem to benefit from in any concevible waydyrewolfe wrote:As Hero pointed out, given there's a chance TNA may not even be in existence much longer, this whole HOF business may be beside the point.
