Interesting Ulster team. Would like to see Farrell perform. Weak bench, but we are missing Court, Best, Fitzpatrick, Muller, Tuohy, Ferris, Henderson, Henry, Jackson, Olding, Marshall, Wallace, Bowe and Gilroy.

Yes. We are down to our fourth choice inside centre. Hope he does alright. Pienaar and Cave will have to talk him through the game.

Why not put a third Bowe in at scrumhalf? Your point still stands - Gilroy on one wing.Notch wrote:1. Court

Quietly confident about this one. Obviously it's a blow to lose Olding but Farrell has potential. Time to show some of it. The scarlets pack has been going well but we are seriously big in the back 5 of the pack and Afoa back too.
There is enough class and experience in that backline between Marshall, Pienaar, Payne, Trimble and cave as well

Remember watching Farrell in his schools rugby days. Even then he was a big unit.

Remember the Pienaar last min penalty and the other close games, this game has started to feel like it has a bit of history now, Scarlets is the Welsh team i look forward to most, (Ospreys is normally more important league wise) but there this has been a bit of rivalry the last few years with Scarlets.
Looking forward to this game, these ones are normally eventful, and rarely dull.

Not too sure it is a rivalry as such, more like you lot stealing games from us, or the WRU taking all our players off us for the extra AI and you lot being full strengthKingshu wrote:Remember the Pienaar last min penalty and the other close games, this game has started to feel like it has a bit of history now, Scarlets is the Welsh team i look forward to most, (Ospreys is normally more important league wise) but there this has been a bit of rivalry the last few years with Scarlets.

It should be an interesting match. The Scarlets side is pretty strong, considering our first choice backline (bar Jordan Williams) are missing. I can't see past an Ulster win, but I do think there will be a few of the Scarlets boys out to prove they deserve to be involved more often than they have so far (Myhill, Maule, Warren in particular).

Ah but I can deal with it being your lot, after all we have given you a pasting in the last few years, whereas we haven't beaten Ulster for a fair while now.Jenifer McLadyboy wrote:That's coming in DecemberScarletSpiderman wrote:

Re: Scarlets vs Ulster
That's a sound Ulster starting XV but it's definately the weakest bench we've seen this season. Still it's reassuring to see what side we can turn out even when missing so many of our first 'first choice' players.
Farrell had shown so much potential before his season off and really hasn't got it back yet. Here's hoping he can stake a claim for further inclusions.
SUFTCAB!!!!!
Are there any crepes at Parc y Scarlets?

Re: Scarlets vs Ulster
Pete, I have never seen any crepes at PYS, we have a hog roast and cheap beer £2.50 a pint, and then an extra 2p of for every 1pt the Scarlets score come fulltime. Thinking of that, maybe the Ulster team should show some respect to the travelling fans, and leak tries left right and centre to allow their travelling support to get beer for 50p a pint?

Re: Scarlets vs Ulster
I think your hog roast trumps our crepes without the cheap beer which is just an added bonus. A trip for next season may be in the offing

Dunno. You have beaten us ONCE in our last 12 meetings. You have beaten Ulster 4 times in the last 12 meetings. Most recent was 2 years ago.ScarletSpiderman wrote:Ah but I can deal with it being your lot, after all we have given you a pasting in the last few years, whereas we haven't beaten Ulster for a fair while now.Jenifer McLadyboy wrote:That's coming in DecemberScarletSpiderman wrote:

We have beaten you once in the last three league meetings (last season), but haven't beaten Ulster in the last three league meetings. I am far more frightened of Ulster, and desperate for a win against them, than I am of Leinster (sorry)Jenifer McLadyboy wrote:Dunno. You have beaten us ONCE in our last 12 meetings. I agree that Ulster are a scarier side than us this year. But we did beat you twice in the HC last year too.ScarletSpiderman wrote:We have beaten you once in the last three league meetings (last season), but haven't beaten Ulster in the last three league meetings. Jen - i was just going on the league, as apparently (from what I have heard) the Rabo and HEC sides are supposedly totally different. Not that going on league results make the Scarlets look less cack or anything.

Yeah. Sure all Rabo sides rest their players in the league and just coast. It's a well known F.A.C.T.

Scarlets have a very strong wind behind them, we aren't doing badly to be 3 points ahead but need to get into their half and put some phases together.

Re: Scarlets vs Ulster
Great tackle from Allen at one point trusting his team mate to make the tackle and drifting to take the outside man.
But yea, how long can we hold this scoreline close? We need a try early in this half, or at least a few pens!

Scarlets playing the conditions better. Some times we get on the ball and are going for backs moves that work for us most nights but long, floated passes in this wind is stupid.
Scarlets also kicking better from hand.

I recorded this so I'm a bit behind, but just wanted to mention Nick Williams. I never tire of seeing him running full pelt at the opposition! That's what all No.8s should be like. I don't think he's ever not got over the gain line!
