I really rate Murray, personally I thought he beat Sturm and Martinez. GGG is a good fighter but would love to see him under pressure and I think Murray has the attributes to do that. Im 50/50 on this fight if it happens

Well I don't think Murray will be stopped easily if at all, an interesting fight, how will Golovkin do against a huge middleweight he may not hurt. I see a competitive but comfortable points win for GGG.

Yeah Murray's been offered the Monte Carlo shot. Don't think he's accepted yet. It'll be a good test for ggg. Murray's defence is sound. Murray is also pretty big at the weight. His problem is I think he has the ability to extend ggg, but doesn't have the fire power to put him on the back foot, and although he's technically sound doesn't have the skills to out box him.
I would think its a late stoppage give ggg's immense power. But I'd expect Murray to have his moments an be ggg's sternest test yet.

I wonder will Murray get paid handsomely for it. Macklin managed to secure an additional hbo performance (the willy Nelson fight), thus securing 2 big paydays.

Easy nights work for GGG.

Murray is incredibly over rated.

Murray clearly lost to Sturm, who in turn was outclassed by Macklin.

Murray fought Sergio Martinez, who fought with one knee, and Murray still couldn't get it done.

GGG by KO inside 6.

I would be using the GGG v Macklin fight as my guide. Murray is around the same level as Macklin. Murray is tough and may hang in longer than Macklin but the KO is inevitable.

Macklin, Murray, Barker and Lee should be having a domestic version of the Four Kings around the IBF belt.

Good luck to Murray anyway.......Imagine If he was a Warren fighter he'd give GGG a miss and wait for Barker-Sturm.........

I'm not completely sold on GGG yet.......Think Murray will do better than expected......

GGG by decision.

GGG's promoter has said Murray does not want the fight. Apparently Murray will still fight on the undercard of the Monte Carlo card with GGG headlining.

Murray was offered £500,000 according to the Daily Express.

Murray has said they aren't  fighting but they are on the same bill in Monaco,  perhaps trying to hype it up a little if they can both look impressive in winning

Murray will be the best opponent to date but I can't  see him beating GGG,  not enough power to keep him off. I think GGG deserves a good fight like Murray,  the Americans have bought into him and his fight with Stevens was HBO's second largest viewing audience of the year so the big fights should be coming his way

Always seen Murray as an over achiever but he's a decent enough fighter. Rather than him fighting GGG I'd rather the Brits found a way to get it on. Golovkin by UD or late stoppage..

Murray should take the fight in Monte Carlo. If he doesn't I can't see it happening, with his visa problems fighting ggg on a big hbo card in the states seems unlikely.

I feel boss for having called this two weeks ago. I feel this is a challenge to Martinez's machismo. Win convincingly enough, and I think Martinez, despite his better judgement (I mean at 39) makes a testosterone-filled decision and fights GGG

Murray is NOT fighting GGG. He is fighting on the same card though. Boxingscene reported this yesterday.

Think he should take it..........The GGG boy is a 21st century Julio cesar chavez and Randall found a way........

If he's getting beat pull him out.........Worth a go.........

Be a huge win If he pulled it off.......

Totally agree. Murray has nothing to lose here, and at a minimum, a huge purse to gain. Take it, see if you can win or go the distance in a competitive fight and you will have surpass what most have done against him.

As stated above Murray has confirmed he's not fighting him. Ggg's management claiming as he's a mandatory refusing his mandatory shot at the title, he's running scared.
I think he should have taken it. The only options left open to Murray now is the domestic shoot out, and that option would have always been there win lose or draw against ggg.

GGG isn't a huge draw yet.

So there's no big pot of cash for Murray to face him.
