Bellew v Stephenson
Anybody give Bellew a chance ??..........
I do............Not sure stephenson has done enough to impress me Yet !! Dawson was nailed early which can happen.........and cloud was awful.......
Bellew needs to work behind his jab and see If he can make it the pivotal tool.........
Though I give him a chance.........60-40 Stephenson..........Stephenson late stoppage..

Re: Bellew v Stephenson
I thought Cloud showed the way to beat Stevenson. He didn't have the fitness or self belief to carry it through, but when he came forward throwing combinations or using the double jab, then Stevenson only had one counter to throw and then he was going backwards.
Stevenson cannot fight going backwards, its clear as day. reminds me very much of Hasim Rahman

80-20 Stephenson for me. You say Cloud was awful, but how can you write-off that performance and not be concerned about how poor Bellew was twice against Chilemba?
I think Bellew is fringe world level, can't see him ever being more. Just doesn't have 'it', though I've grown to like the bloke over time.

Fair point........Bellew was awful against Chilemba and It's part of the reason I favor Stephenson.......TopHat24/7 wrote:80-20 Stephenson for me. You say Cloud was awful, but how can you write-off that performance and not be concerned about how poor Bellew was twice against Chilemba?

Though I'm not as convinced by Stephenson as others are....I certainly think Bellew has more questions to answer......

Re: Bellew v Stephenson
Both have previously questioned chins also, which could be a factor. Power is with Adonis though, as I think Bellew's has been over-stated a little.
But one good one bad wins over McKenzie, tight loss to Cleverly and two struggles with Chilemba just don't speak to me of a guy that can trouble someone who, whilst not perfect, still has some healthy scalps on his record.

Fair play to Bellew, he has went about his shot in the proper way, and is at least fighting THE holder of a belter.....not like a certain Welshman who picks up the vacant ones
Re: Bellew v Stephenson
Didnt Bellew fight Cleverly first and lose?

I also remember a member who went through a faze of not being able to spell names so he just wrote something like this:
"AB would beat PM because BN is RC right hand man and if SM is fighting TK is RG getting a shot against FM because FC is RF and BN is to go to EKFJDMAMAMAMFLASLFKAKF......."

Re: Bellew v Stephenson
I can't see how Bomber beats the Stevenson that fought Cloud he just diesnt have enoughin his locker. HHe's a capable, likable fighter but I don't see him hurting Superman whereas vice versa is probable.

Re: Bellew v Stephenson
Oh please grow up you fliping berk. Cleverly picked up the WBO belt as a vacant title because THE holder Juergen Braehmer kept dropping out of the fight. Clev wanted to go about his shot the 'proper way'Reborn-DeeMcK-Reborn wrote:Fair play to Bellew, he has went about his shot in the proper way, and is at least fighting THE holder of a belter.....not like a certain Welshman who picks up the vacant ones
I know your hatred for Clev knows no bounds but stop trying to put bullshet spin on it
Anyway enough of talking to morons and the fight mentioned in the OP
My prediction for Bellew......PAIN

Re: Bellew v Stephenson
I actually fancy Bellew to pull it off, or get shafted on the cards in Canada. This could well come back as one of the worst predictions ever and Stevenson could turn out to be the real deal.
But I can honestly see Bellew boxing to a game plan and picking Stevenson off.

Seems you have boiling hatred for anybody who dares to challenge a welsh fighter. Froch, Bellew....
So bitter :-(

is that the longest post you have made for a while? stick to the poor one liners, nothing to shout about when you are only interested in the welsh and not boxingSteffan wrote:Oh please grow up you fliping berk. Re: Bellew v Stephenson
Bellew's only advantage against Superman Stevenson is size.
Bellew's a very big light heavyweight. Whilst Stevenson is a super middleweight fighting at light heavyweight.
Stevenson's power, movement and hand speed is all streets above Bellew's.
Once that left hook lands, it's lights out for Bellew.

Re: Bellew v Stephenson
Definitely think Bellew has a chance, don't think he'll get stopped at any rate, has proven he's a smart fighter. The reason he got the Cleverly fight was because he'd looked distinctly average but proved his mettle and just fell short in a close fight. Proved in the Chilemba rematch he can learn and make adjustments, and in a way the Chilemba fights were good practice as I don't think Stevenson is any slicker or quicker although he obviously carries more power.
Although has his reputation as a warrior the reality is he's a defence first fighter, and pretty solid in that field, that plus his workrate could see him cause a surprise in this one, but I predict a close decision win for stevenson.

I predict a brutal demolishing around 5-6 rounds of an average domestic fighter stepping WAY above his pay grade.

I havent heard of a comment like that since primary school!!! But at least I know you have zippo to reply with if thats the standard of your insults hahaha
Re: Bellew v Stephenson
Can't see Bellow winning. I've watched him a few times and never seen anything special. Stephenson isn't out of this world but seems a level or two above Bellow.
Will be routing for Bellow but see him being stopped mid-to-late rounds.
