Re: Bellew in eliminator
Fair play to this guy......He is the most improved fighter on the British scene....
Would love to see him take on Cleverly again now!!! Even pick him to win.
Be interesting to see him progress over the next year or two..

Re: Bellew in eliminator
I've said it before, but that narrow loss has done Bellew twice as much good as the narrow victory has done for Cleverly. It seems to have made him believe in his own ability, while it has apparently raised doubts in Nathan's mind. Like Truss, I'm starting to think that Bellew could eke out a decision in a return against the Welshman, a fight that is always likely to be tight.

It's not Hearns' fault that the IBF told Hearns that Brook/Jones was an eliminator then forced him to fight Saldivia so that Bailey and Alexander could stink the place out.

Re: Bellew in eliminator
i was very critical about bellew getting a shot a cleverly, and as his experience at the time was very poor, but since he has been a model pro, vastly improved and very motivated. i can see bellew winning the belt now actually, setting up a unifaction with clev, who cannot refuse. my money is on bellew now, he boxes as well as pressures now.
also well done hearn, another title opportunity for one of our lads, they just keep coming.

I havent actually be as massively impressed by Bellew as others have from his last couple of performances. To me he appears more cautious and tentative now which isnt neccessarily a bad thing I suppose given he could be a bit too gung ho. But I thought he made harder work of a pretty disinterested Miranda and the last guy he fought than maybe he should have.

miranda can be tricky though, and he looked in control most of the time, and he looked on form against mcintosh. not seen the guy who he's fighting next so, but he can box and bang (bellew) so i think he will it unless the guys some hidden master.

Re: Bellew in eliminator
He looked good against McIntosh, but that was domestic level. I honestly didnt think Miranda showed up to win. He basically seemed to be hanging around waiting for Bellew to put his foot on the gas. When Bellew didnt seem to oblige Miranda looked like he just to the opportunity to concede when the first decent couple of shots got through. Loked to me like Bellew gave Miranda too much respect. Not neccessarily a poor performance but not one that particularly impressed me either.

Think people are a little more impressed with his attitude than his performances Manos - I agree he gave Miranda too much respect - I doubt though that he would do the same to Clev.
Re: Bellew in eliminator
I like Bellew from what Ive seen of him so far. He can get a bit hotheaded but he genuinely seems like a decent enough bloke when Ive seen him on Ringside. Ive jut felt his last couple of fights have been reasonable performances rather than impressive ones.

How long was it since Bellew last fought? That cut he got was a real bad one and I hope he lets it heal properly and not rush back to sparring too soon.
