Your favourite quiz show?
Not normally a great fan of quiz show's, but I do really enjoy The Chase.
Like the concept of how it is done.
The 4 chasers are good, good bit of banter at times between them and the contestants.
Do enjoy seeing them not being able to stop the team.
Anybody have any quiz shows they really enjoy?

Like Reborn I love Pointless, also going back a few years adored 15 to 1. Had the level pitched just right, plenty of questions, hard enough to be a challenge but not so erudite you could not get a good chunk right.

Can't abide "traditional" quiz shows. I despise the ...Millionaire/Chris Tarrant habit of trying to build up suspense that doesn't exist and the constant "we'll be back after the break" nonsense.
What I hate most about them is the procrastination from the contestants....
(TV Git) "Well, it can't be A because I once took a trip to India back when I was studying for a my degree and I'm pretty confident I didn't see any kangaroos...unless it was curried hahahahahahahaha. I'm also pretty certain that it's not the South Pole, I'm a huge fan of nature shows and I'll watch anything with Polar Bears and I would have noticed...."
ME (screaming at telly) "Will you just f*****g say "Australia" and get on with it you boring c***. We all know that's where kangaroos come from. I could be done and dusted in fifteen minutes with this show ...A...D....B....C....A....D... phone a friend. .....D...D...A...C...C...C....B....b***ocks. Where's my cheque? Thanks.....bye!"

Hate Jimmy Carr and Keith Lemon....the latter being the worst. He was a bit funny at the beginning but now its just worn out.
Re: Your favourite quiz show?
I disagree, he has a habit of labouring some jokes and on accasion he annoys me. It's still an excellent show although some of the guest hosts ruin it for me. Roger Moore was particularly bad and Brian Blessed is just an annoying shouty old duffer who will crowbar "Gordon's alive" into the conversation if it kills him...or us!Reborn-DeeMcK-Reborn wrote:Love it, Paul Merton never gets boring.DAVE667 wrote:HIGNFY

Strike it Rich with Michael Barrymore was good.

Re: Your favourite quiz show?
I too enjoy Pointless.... well up to a point (no pun intended).
While I find the questions reasonably challenging, and Richard Osman is a gem, I also like the fact that contestants get two chances to shine. It's fair.
Unfortunately, the show is spoiled by being about 15 minutes too long. And then there's Alexander Armstrong. I'm sorry, I just find him banal, unfunny, and so attached to the autocue he must need to have it surgically removed after each show.
The 45 minute duration of a quiz that could easily be completed in 30 means there is too much drivelling about "What do you like to do in your spare time, Darren? Masturbating, eh...? Excellent."
I'm sorry, but it does grind my gears when all we want to do is get on with it and Armstrong asks the same tedious questions over and over, the answers to which nobody in the audience gives a damn about and he (Armstrong) is conspicuously unable to feign genuine interest in.
I know these things are intended to relax the contestants, but the show is edited. They can do that in real time, cut it from the final edit and just get on with the quiz, which is what most viewers really watch it for.
Richard Osman saves that show. It would be easy to mistake him for the professional comedian, with his wit which is sometimes dry, and other times slips seamlessly into gentle mickey taking delivered with a twinkle in the eye.
Pointless would be much improved by cutting out the 15 minutes of unnecessary drivel, by ditching Armstrong and getting in somebody who can improvise / ad lib occasionally and who is actually funny.

Pointless and Countdown.
Richard Osman is brilliant on pointless and I can actually answer some of the questions! And Countdown because of Rachel Riley.
