Lauaki and Tialata join Bayonne
French Top 14 side Bayonne announced on Monday that All Blacks Sione Lauaki and Neemia Tialata had joined the club.
Forward Lauaki who has 17 caps for the All Blacks, arrives from French champions Clermont on a three-year deal.
"I'm a competitor," said Lauaki. "Bayonne are an ambitious club, I want to help them to continue to evolve.
Fellow New Zealand international Tialata has agreed terms to stay at the club, who finished seventh in the Top 14, for two years with an option to extend it to three.
The 28-year-old prop, who plied his trade at Super 15 outfit Wellington Hurricanes prior to the move, has 41 All Black caps.
The arrival of the pair takes the number of new recruits signed by Bayonne to three following the signing of France international winger Cedric Heymans.

Re: Lauaki and Tialata join Bayonne
With John Afoa coming to Ulster after the RWC, and Tialata and Hayman in Europe as well, will the All Blacks be weak there after the tournament?
There are the Franks brothers at prop of course, who else from the Super15 is ready to make the step up at tighthead?

The big Mac- he's only 25 I think.
Tialata and Afoa didn't really have much of an AB future in my opinion anyway which is why they are off. Mind you the Hurricanes don't have many B/near AB level forwards so its going to hurt them next year.

Both are overrated and quite honestly a waste of space.

although it was already a strong rumour, Rokocoko has now signed a 2 years contract for Bayonne.

Yeah, interesting move. He'll not see a lot of ball!
It is good though, that smaller clubs get some big names. Rather than the top 4/5 clubs in Europe just hoovering up all the SH stars.
