AI League - Table Just Bit of Fun
Team Pl W L F A BP Pts
New Zealand 3 3 0 110 47 1 13
Australia 3 2 1 95 55 2 10
South Africa 2 2 0 52 15 1 9
England 3 2 1 73 55 1 9
Wales 2 1 1 55 30 1 5
France 2 1 1 57 44 1 5
Ireland 2 1 1 55 41 1 5
Scotland 2 1 1 42 45 1 5
Japan 2 0 2 23 96 0 0
Samoa 1 0 1 9 40 0 0
Tonga 1 0 1 18 38 0 0
Just a bit of fun I know but this is what a possible AI league table would currently look like before another round of games this weekend and 1 more next (will update after those games).
As expected ABs clear at the top but bit surprised to see the so called poorest Aussie side for years 2nd and only team to get 2 bonus points.

Good work beds.
Considering most teams involved still have at least one more game ahead of them this table may well change.
France could well take the Boks this weekend. They are in very good shape with some superb new players. It might sound far fetched but Ireland could get a historic win this weekend over the ABs.
Ireland ran NZ close in NZ a short while ago, they can play better than last week against SA and the ABs looked tired vs England .

I'm fearful that the only way that Ireland beat ABs on the score board is if they can't put the 3rd digit up beside the NZs name in the stadium, NZ(1)09 vs Ire 12.maestegmafia wrote:Good work beds.

I know, I know, I'm being a bit dramatic here............... Ireland mightn't get 12 points in the game!

Bedford are you using the Japan vs NZ game?
That isn't a AI (European) test, is it?

Yeah, but we all refer to the AI's as the inbound tour to Europe.maestegmafia wrote:Tricky, the test was in Tokyo and it is currently Autumn in Japan.Biltong wrote:Bedford are you using the Japan vs NZ game?

Fair enough Bill, I guess that puts the Boks top then because the ABs are playing one less game.Biltong wrote:Yeah, but we all refer to the AI's as the inbound tour to Europe.maestegmafia wrote:Tricky, the test was in Tokyo and it is currently Autumn in Japan.Biltong wrote:Bedford are you using the Japan vs NZ game?

Re: AI League - Table Just Bit of Fun
I watched them play against New Zealand, they looked good, we are going to have a problem in the scrums though.
coenie Oosthuizen isn't a tight head and Meyer is insisting in turning him into a tight head, he has struggled at tight head the whole year, cannot understand what Meyer wants.
We have Jannie, Frans Malherbe, Lourens Adriaanse and Pat Cilliers, why is he insisting on turning Coenie into a tight head.

I didn't know. The frogs have picked a good team.
If you guys slip up and Wales paste tonga then it will be interestingly close in this table going into the last weekend.

Well we have to win this, if we don't then all the progress we achieved this year has been for naught.

Re: AI League - Table Just Bit of Fun
Thankfully Heyneke looks to be favouring a forward approach to this game . Both PSDT and Bakkies on the bench means its going to be heavy rucking going on . Thats the way to beat the frogs , absolutely dominate the ruck area otherwise we're very screwed . And with Pienaar at 9 there's no such thing as quick ball so the backline will be reduced to defensive dutiesBiltong wrote:I watched them play against New Zealand, they looked good, we are going to have a problem in the scrums though.

As a Wales fan I can safely tell you that sometimes a close defeat can be better for you than a win.Biltong wrote:Well we have to win this, if we don't then all the progress we achieved this year has been for naught.
This is going to be a superb game. That French backline are electric...

Yeah Bullsbok, I reckon we are going to work with little possession here and do a lot of defending.

A close match between wales and Australia would be a good result seeing the amount of injuries wales have in key positions but all excuses aside Wales can't keep losing these games

Only if you learn from it, if you keep making the same mistakes time and time again then whats the point!

Re: AI League - Table Just Bit of Fun
Correct, and the lesson we have learnt over and over (or not) under PDV is that without taking risks we flirt with not getting enough points to win anyway. You simply can't play defensive rugby for 80 minutes, evetually you will concede points.Scrumpy wrote:Only if you learn from it, if you keep making the smae mistakes time and time again then whats the point!maestegmafia wrote:As a Wales fan I can safely tell you that sometimes a close defeat can be better for you than a win.
